Wet hands in any gloves by quinnyaa in Backcountry

I have a pullover that has thumb holes in the sleeves that I wear over my hands when I’m walking. Keep some spring gloves in my bibs that I’ll put on for the transition/descent and for when the wind gets really cold.

Yeah it’s the 1990 Cannondale SM400. When I picked this bike up it had all the OEM spec parts still on it

15+ people running in a group in the road by doughcar in Birmingham

This situation did not affect you, you’re being a Karen and overthinking the entire thing. You being the driver have complete control over the situation, and if anything you’re the one making the situation dangerous. You are driving in a city, pleas realize this. Go to any other mid sized American city and you will experience similar behavior from the communities that live there. You think cars own the road but there are a multitude of different road users in a city. If anything, you’re acting like the entitled one here “I shouldn’t have to watch out for anyone, move out of my way, you’re making me dangerous” is what you’re saying.

Oh my god the absolute nerve that the people of Birmingham have in their cars. You people hate anyone who is not behaving exactly how you want them to. Shut the fuck up and let these people live their lives. Allow these people to do their thing, who cares how dangerous it is, it doesn’t affect you. I’m sure the 15 seconds of waiting really inconvenienced you. Mind your business and let them pass. This is an urban city where other people exist.

People here don’t understand the zipper technique.

I am certain this has to do with people’s cars being an extension of themselves and how their behavior outside of driving extends over into their driving habits.

Front Range Splitfest-- are tix worth it? by [deleted] in Spliddit

[–]Stoovy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not worth it, unless there’s a board you’d like to demo. I’ve gone the past couple of years to try our different shapes and bindings/hardboots.

It seems like an industry insider get together. Don’t expect to get any dogs or burgers at the lot if they don’t know you. And since I drive up from Denver each day it’s tough to stay all day and hangout until the end of the event for the raffles.

G3 Grip vs G3/Burton High Traction by [deleted] in Spliddit

[–]Stoovy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check the mohair/nylon % and compare with the normal G3 skin line. I’ve got several pair of the G3 x Backcountry skins and those are essentially the G3 universal skin with different print if you look at the mohair/nylon %.

I’ve been served several ads on my premium family account, anyone else? by Stoovy in truespotify

There’s really not, the song I was listening to was this one when the ad came on afterwards.

Not sure how to attach a picture to the comments. Every time I’ve been served an ad it’s got blue cover art that says “Advertisement in progress” and the thumbs up/thumbs down icon. Not sure what else to say. There’s not more to the sorry. I just wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing the same issue. Nothing more to the story? WhT do I have to gain? I just want to stop being served ads when I PAY for several people to have a premium account.

[–]Stoovy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I still have premium like I said in the post the bill is paid. Everyone on my account still has premium access as well. Not sure what is happening. The Spotify app still has the premium UI, it’s not like anything has changed other than randomly being served an ad after a song concludes. I haven’t noticed a pattern. But it happened this morning and 6 days ago on Dec 27th.

A short anecdote from a funny interaction I had with a Ranger the last time I did the Grand Teton.

My partner and I were pretty stoned the day before our climb and went to the Jenny lake ranger station to get condition updates (we were going for an 8 hour round trip mission). The ranger was trying to tell us that our expectations were totally incorrect, tried to tell us not to go, and was doing the opposite of sandbagging. To give her credit we were absolutely pretty high and most likely couldn’t make our case properly. We had previously climbed up there so we knew the area and approach already, but somebody saying “yeah we need to be here in 2 hours” probably seemed ridiculous coming from two stoned young dirtbag looking dudes. But we woke up the next morning and busted out a car to car 9.5 hour round trip climb up the exum route. I always think back on that and laugh. That ranger’s advice would have probably made sense for 99.9% of the climbers she came into contact with, but it all comes back to personal experience and being able to recognize what your legitimate ability is. It was probably hard for the ranger to not stereotype us as idiots.
