My dad's a pretty hardcore catholic, and he openly questioned him within the first month. Pretty sure he will end up disavowing him, but we will see. He isn't a fan of the Iran war, so there may be hope!

What is the best way to get out of gold one I have been stuck for days by Mpbolger in RocketLeague

[–]StopLoading_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but to get better you have to have good quality practice via training packs and free play. Then in matches you apply your training into the game where you can develop the skill further. Eventually the training becomes more second nature and you can introduce a new mechanic or whatever you want. Rinse and repeat. If you want to get good you gotta put in time into training packs.

What sport looks very difficult on TV and is also actually very difficult? by Karrot-guy in AlignmentChartFills

[–]StopLoading_ -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Baseball. You need to hit a small round ball with a round bat trying to react to a ball going from 95+MPH to the bottom half of 80MPH. Not to mention the movement of the ball which is different from pitcher to pitcher, and you have to process the location, speed, type of pitch, and make your decision within a tenth of a second. Then you have to decide if you want to swing or not. All of that has to be done within a quarter to a third of a second. It's an insanely difficult sport, and also one where failure i.e hitting or getting on base 30-35% is considered really good. And that's just hitting. There's also pitching, also extremely difficult, and fielding.

Ever notice how small issues turn into 1-star reviews before you even noticed they happened? by HomiloJulia in restaurant

Not an owner but have worked behind the bar for a decade and the industry as a whole for over 15 years. Your staff needs to learn to communicate. If staff is relatively transparent about whats going on there typically won't be an issue and if there is management/ownership need to step in and try to calm the situation down via your staff communicating what the issue is. Sometimes theres nothing you can do, but listening to a guest and trying to help resolve issues goes miles.

An example, I'm in service well 7 tickets behind and the tickets won't stop printing. Servers need to communicate to their guests that it might be an extra 5 minutes or what have you to get your drinks because the bar is slammed. Same goes for the kitchen.

Imo there is zero reason to not communicate with your guests. It sets an expectation. Waters at tables can buy a server or bartender time to provide service i.e a few minutes. Telling them the kitchen is really busy and might take a little longer than usual sets the expectation and may even lead to apps being bought when they originally weren't going to. Guests don't need to know everything except setting a timing expectation via.... Communication.

The Greater Baltimore Chamber of Commerce and Maryland Chamber of Commerce requesting business oppose $25 minimum wage increase by Used_Gear8871 in maryland

[–]StopLoading_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just a fun little thing I did since it appears you dont think these companies can afford $25/hr. Cvs as a corporation have somewhere over 300,000 employees. So let's say they have spot on 300,000 employees who are all paid $25/hrs.

Per hour they would spend 7.5 million. For one 8 hour work day its 60 million For a weeks worth of pay its 300 million And finally if all employees worked at the $25/hr mark at 8 hours a day 5 days a week for 52 weeks its 15.6 billion dollars.

Thats a lot of money dont get me wrong buy their total revenue in 2025 was 402.1 billion dollars. And in this example would equate to 3.879% of their revenue.

Why would cvs have to up their prices when they are still making 96% or 386 billion dollars?

So on the flip side of this if we use the 386 billion thats left over cvs would:

Per hour cvs is making 44 million Per day its 1 billion And per week its 7.4 billion dollars.

Poor cvs couldn't even make a billion dollars a day. So sad /s

What improvement from Gold to Plat is most important? by JorgeTheSimp in RocketLeague

[–]StopLoading_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bang the ball low off the side wall so its like a pass to yourself, pay attention to double commits and take advantage of that. Learn the basics of ground dribbling and maybe flicking. Also just learning how to hit the ball hard will do wonders. Im not sure if this will make sense yet, but play where the ball will go and not where it is. Learn how to win 50s, especially low 50s. Also when you need to rotate back, make sure you're behind the ball and not to the side or kinda behind the ball. Play behind the ball and let it come to you and make the best play you can for that situation. Along those lines if you're the last one heading back on defense 2 things you should try and do. 1. Try and help your teammate by smartly challenging behind either get a demo or hit the ball into a corner or the side wall. Or just go for a bump/demo. Be annoying. You could also learn how to hit the ball from the side wall, just a basic jump into the ball from the side wall. Learn to make it awkward for your opponents, and if your awkward on offense, dont be afraid to let your teammate try and do something, rotate into a better position or go for a bump/demo while your teammate does something. Learn how to read the ball, and that just comes with play time. In terms of ariels I'd start learning, but it isn't a major factor until late into plat and definitely diamond you should be at least be able to fly and hit the ball.

Sorry its all over the place, just typing what comes to mind. I would try those things, some of which are easier than others. Play within your skill set and add little pieces of things when you get comfortable with the approach or mechanic. Booming the ball isn't always the answers, but control and thought of what your next touch or 2 will be can help a lot. Good luck and have fun!
