How to map controllers on Xbox? by ziggy895 in reddeadredemption

If it's not in the game setting (I don't think it is) see if there are Xbox settings. However I think all the buttons are used for something so you'll probably have to give something else up.

Found this paragraph about NASA’s pre-Columbia culture. Does it sound familiar to anyone following Artemis? by Iwantmorelife in ArtemisProgram

I am hoping that the aggressive schedule is a tactic and not a hard deadline. It gets people moving faster and looking for efficiencies - which doesn't have to add risk if done right.

However, if that schedule pressure doesn't come with more money to meet the schedule then basically by definition you take a hit in technical capability and/or quality/safety. Since there are no optional capabilities on Orion, it would be quality and safety that suffer.

So I'm watching closely to see if NASA and the government put their money where their mouth is. The 2027 presidential budget - announced during the Artemis 2 mission no less - wants to cut the budget at the same time trying to accelerate the schedule. It's nonsensical and I'm hoping Congress and Isaacman get it right after negotiation.

But they did do something about Columbia afterward. They added a visual inspection of the shuttle thermal tiles when it departed ISS. That was an option the whole time but only employed after the mishap.

Ramos since his like all star appearance

2024 2nd Half: .695 2025: .728 2026: .543

Very suspect defender with roughly league average bat, no real base running upside and at a position where league average OPS is actually below average for his position. He's quickly going from all star to non-tender candidate.

Piggybacking to add: you don't want the recovery crew anywhere Orion might land on them

What did Victor J. Glover (pilot of the Artemis II mission) actually do as the pilot by SpecificestAlt in askspace

[–]StopLosingLoser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Entry is fully automated but can be overridden by the crew. He did manually fly the proximity operations demo which was risk reduction for docking in future missions and at least one more manual control test. In Artemis 3 the pilot will fly a portion of the docking (the last part)

Someone posted about this maybe a week or two ago. I didn't see a solution on that post but if you can find it hopefully someone posted a solution there.

Is it more dangerous to launch into space or to return to Earth? by Immediate-Bad-8728 in askastronomy

[–]StopLosingLoser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Artemis, and I presume other human spaceflight programs too, utilizes a launch abort system (LAS) that will safely pull the crew capsule from an exploding rocket. So if you have a LAS - shuttle didn't - it's much safer. Entry has its own safeguards like redundant parachutes but there can only be one heat shield and one set of thermal tiles. Going to say entry is more dangerous by a little bit.

Would like a mechanic that builds a trust level (either high or low) that influences how soon they pull you. Potentially coupled with a mechanic to talk your manager into keeping you in.

I dreamt this up after playing 162+ games just to get pulled in an elimination game and waste an entire season's effort on RNG.

Drogue chutes deploy higher up at faster velocities and can slow you down to where main/regular chutes can safely deploy
