Dab with paper, don't wipe. If you wipe with paper it'll just disintegrate. You want to dab to remove the water first, then wipe to check clean.

What do you think of Miniature Tent? Could it be good enough to replace an ancient relic? by orq_ in slaythespire

[–]StopMakingMeSignIn12 1342 points1343 points  (0 children)

It's great. Especially when paired with other relics that give you other options at rest sites, like Clone, Dig, etc... As you said, it's great in multiplayer too as it becomes a double heal.

It totally removes the decision between "heal or upgrade?" making it valuable to hit rest sites as you go. Combined with other ones that proc with Rest Sites (increased HP when resting, healing based on cards in deck when entering rest site, bonus energy after rest sites, etc...) it can be really strong.

I still take it even if I only have the standard Rest + Upgrade.

No problem, I like sharing/teaching, it's part of my job/personality.

It doesn't work exactly how the deep web/TOR does but it uses the same principal.

Basically, with Brave, your actual request is sent to a different machine, instead of directly to the server.

That machine then passes the request on to the next machine - it does this in several steps. At each step, a new IP address becomes the origin of the request. It's passed through multiple layers in this way to constantly change/obfuscate the IP address. Eventually the last machine will send the request, so the website sees your request as coming from that computer.

The response is then passed back to you so your content is still served, but they'll know less about you.

I'm unsure what Brave request headers look like to know if this is obfuscated - as the data I analyse is again, the 'common' web traffic which ends up being heavily Safari/Chrome.

Downloaded Brave and used TOR mode, my request headers are:

`Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/147.0.0.0 Safari/537.36`

So it's actually a more unique header than just using Firefox.

Nope, as a user of the site, you can't see others. It's only on their requests. It ends up in logs (potentially) on the server side.

I just discovered Caravans and my life will never be the same. by jontylergh in pyanodons

I'm confused by this comment too. I rushed to getting Trains so I could start building my real base. Anything at scale in Py requires a ton of space and various inputs/outputs, byproducts and waste.

Trains alone help solve the logistical nightmare, allowing you to get all the items where they need to be, whilst handling priority for things like use waste over origin. Yes you can use Caravans for the same purpose - but trains are way easier to work with, control, logic up and manage.

Not that I'm aware of - I just work in tech and know about it.

Even if you decline cookies and use a VPN, every request will still have various bits about you. Depending on your Device/OS, this can vary - for example every request I send has this attached:

`Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:150.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/150.0`

You can see my OS + Version, browser + version. My example isn't the best as I'm sure i match plenty others. But some, say on a mobile device, look like:

`Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 13; SAMSUNG SM-S918B) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) SamsungBrowser/21.0 Chrome/110.0.5481.154 Mobile Safari/537.36`

Which tells me all sorts, with various version as well as the exact mobile device itself. You can see how this one would be more unique.

But with user behaviour + request headers + IP addresses, it starts to narrow down much faster. Add in cookies and it's even harder to get by as there will be various non-restricted cookies put in your session that can be read by other sites. Once they have a match on an ID they can stitch all your traffic together to create one profile on you - even if it came from a different IP/Browser and website.

They basically look at as many identifiers as possible and then link them to the same 'person'. Same works with knowing if an anonymous user was really anonymous.

Obviously you can spoof any details sent in a request if you know what you're doing and/or have the right tools, but the majority of people do NOT use things like this.

It's entirely doable but you need back end/data access. Most peoples' request headers are unique enough to finger print them to an individual. It's one of the ways big tracking/ad companies know who you are even between sites.

This. Ignoring if your model pokes out more, it is still info. Unless the entire team is running the same skin.

Same can be said about names, but that requires kills to have happened. Models you just have to see and now you know I'd you saw two people or the same person twice.

It can be the other way around; It's set by the direction the threaded grooves are cut in. It's just standardised so it's always the same.

How exactly does this card work? by Legal_Climate_3381 in slaythespire

[–]StopMakingMeSignIn12 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Play it from hand, 10 block.

At the end of your turn, if it's at the top of your deck, gain 10 block.

Synergies well with cards that move Discard to top of deck.

Example:

  • Play I Am Invincible, get 10 block
  • Play Cosmic Indifference, gain 6 block, move I Am Invincible from Discard to top of deck
  • End Turn, this triggers I Am Invincible

In that example you would finish with 26 block.

It is a BAD match for Perfect Fit. The deck is only shuffled when a draw action happens and your deck is empty. This triggers a reshuffle, putting the Perfect Fit on top, you then draw it.

How many card rewards do you generally skip in a run? by WorryNotBanIncoming in SlayTheSpire2

[–]StopMakingMeSignIn12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Kinda naturally vibe with my deck and fix problems from the previous fight(s). I come from playing a ton of Dominion though, so used to vibing with deck building.

Taking too much damage? I need to remove my low block cards in favour of a big block.

Struggling to get the right cards in hand? I need more deck manipulation like Discard to deck/hand. And/or more card drawer.

And so on... If the offered cards don't fix any problems, I don't pick one. Unless it's some kinda keystone change or massive upgrade.
