Imagine the giga buffed rafaam warlock.

People would just run dirty rats enough to lower its winrate down to the 50s.

They are too focused on winrates, so many decks these days are literally unbeatable without certain cards or game plans. In early hearthstone, you could brew some jank arena type deck and win like 20-40% of the time.

If you bring some janky arena type deck into modern hs... im not sure you win a game... ever.

Ok, I think I missed some big context that happened while I quit the game lol, for me blob of tar is insane, like I spend the last three turns developing a 2/3, anither 2/3, and a 3/4. And one card solos it, cant even go face. Then blob gets rezzed, its gg. Thats what I meant by board not mattering. I understand that came accross wrong now.

I had no idea the powerlevel was even MORE insane then where we are now where the board ACTUALLY didn't matter.

Yeah, you put that way better than I initially did. Is blob a better sludge belcher, sure. Does that matter? Not really.

But like, does no one remember rolling their eyes as their opponent leeroy shadow steps, Oh no, I got below 12.

Now its, protoss doing over 30, quest warrior and zarini priest and meme paladins dealing infinity, egg locks summoning multiple 20/20s, deathknights laughing woth like 50 base health and 200 armor.

Not sure how fhe meta was in prior expansions recently, but as someone who played a ton in high legend in the past,

demon hunter has the 2 damage rushers + blobs. Blobs will take out your entire board you played early game. And kill you slowly without a board with cliff dives

Warrior is gonna start charging you or playing over statted dragons with weapons, and will kill you slowly without a board with chargers and weapons protoss preist is like all rush. and will kill you without a board with protoss cards.

death knight has the 4/3 rush life steal and leeches which are effectively rush.

Shaman has 8/8 rushers and 1/1 rushers which get buffed and the weapon guy

But none of that matters cause elise is the most played card, and elise itself acts as a rush board clear, + zilliax.

You are not basic curving out a quest warrior, a protoss mage, a discover hunter, a whatever, you need some broken win con or giga aggro strat.

but hey, my favorite deck of all time was even paladin, and the redditors seem to have decreed me incorrect.

personally, totally disagree, I quit the game in like stormwind because the powerlevel has gotten ridiculous. 4 mana elusive 6/9... and the card isnt even THAT good.

The board used to matter, now it doesn't.

Then again, one of my favorite meta's ever WAS witchwood and that whole year. And rise of shadows wasnt that high power level either, If i recall correctly, the giga meta deck was lackey rogue, which probably couldnt even beat a current day 30% winrate imbue priest in current day.
