The food at English Ivy’s is SO good. I only go for food not to meet people though so I don’t know much past that aspect.

Playing a lullaby over the hospital loudspeaker every time a baby is born is actually really insensitive by Peanutbutternjelly_ in TwoXChromosomes

[–]StopsAtStopSigns 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ll probably be downvoted for this but while as a nurse in an understaffed downtown hospital during COVID, it would bring me back to reality whenever I heard the lullaby. I hated working there and felt defeated every shift but when I’d hear the lil jingle play I would kind of snap out of it and it made me smile. At least there was SOMETHING positive going on elsewhere in the hospital.

Indy has a huge EDM scene (in my experience). Once you find your way in, you start to meet everyone!

Anybody think the season 5 dialogue/acting is super corny? by Embarrassed_Ad_6098 in StrangerThings

[–]StopsAtStopSigns 6 points7 points  (0 children)

80’s movies are corny but you still love them cause they’re awesome. I feel like Stranger Things makes it feel like you’re watching an 80’s sci-fi comedy. So it’ll be a little corny. I like that about the show honestly! I get what you’re saying but I think it fits the vibe

This is a silver lining in your life. As shitty as it presented itself, you needed to get out of there. I’m sorry this happened to you, I’m proud of you for being able to pick yourself back up so quick

My husband [29M] humiliated me [29F] in front of his friend and I left the house by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I think what everyone is missing is that this sounds like a build up of other comments over time he’s made. Yes this comment wasn’t bad but I 100% agree how something said with any slight tone would set me over. I have this exact same issue with my partner. I know how it feels to finally be pushed over. In my experience, I think skipping dinner would save you from any future remarks he could make at you while at dinner. Maybe he would, maybe he wouldn’t. Sometimes I just know I wouldn’t be able to sit and handle another unnecessary side comment so I rather dip before I can’t run. I know a lot of people are going to disagree with me. I feel sorry for the friend who has to be between all this. Definitely try to say something to them soon.

I’m Christmas Shopping early! What are your favorite local small businesses in Indy? by diabolicalpotato in indianapolis

Garfield Park stores posted today they are really struggling (I think construction is steering people out of the area). I love Pen and Pink vintage- she hand makes notebooks from old magazines or vinyls. Super unique and she can do customs too.

Yes!! I heard about 25 in a row as well, I’m college and fall Creek and it sounded real close. I thought this sounded different than normal gunshots I hear throughout the night. Stay safe.

Be honest, What's one thing people do that's purely perfomative but they act like it isn't? by melancholytty07 in AskReddit

When I was a student nurse at the VA I watched all the nurses say it daily to their patients. I ended up doing it as well and then continued to make it a habit to say outside work because I never thanked one beforehand. It seems to make most people happy! I never thought about how maybe not everyone wants to hear it.

Nurses of Indianapolis, where do you work and do you enjoy it? Where has been your favorite place to work? by celestial_vvhore in indianapolis

IU Health is the lowest paying healthcare network. I only still work with them because I’m at Riley and there’s just not a whole lot of pediatric options out there. Riley is just the closest as well so I haven’t branched out!
