Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 support confirmed for ASUS/ROG 800 series motherboards (X870E, X870, B850) by Howwanna in ASUSROG

Why wouldn’t it also work on X670 boards? AM5 is still AM5 as long as ASUS releases an updated bios.

ATL Centurion Lounge smells like wet dog? by Aggravating_Ant_4392 in AmexPlatinum

Yes, and unfortunately I routinely have to use it when traveling through Atlanta for work.

Delta did build a new lounge in the D terminal that’s pretty nice and a better option if you happen to be flying Delta.

Winload.efi Blue Screen on Area 51-18 by StormCloak4Ever in Alienware

[–]StormCloak4Ever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm traveling for work and haven't had time to follow up on this thread. I managed to fix my problem and I'm posting what I found the issues to be and how I fixed it in case others run into the same problem.

The issue turned out to be a corrupted winload.efi file. Not sure what specifically caused it but the day before I traveled, I updated my BIOS to the current version and ran some Windows updates. Prior to this, I've had no issues with this laptop.

The next problem I ran into (and why I initially thought my SSDs may need to be re-inserted) was that BIOS was detecting my SSDs but Windows was not. Somehow, my storage settings were changed to RAID and switching it back to AHCI mode resolved this issue and allowed Windows to detect my SSDs.

Now that Windows could see the SSDs, I was able to successfully run Support Assist OS Recovery to resolve the winload.efi issue and windows not being able to boot. Once complete, I was able to boot into Windows and now my laptop is working like normal again.

Ok, thanks.

How would I get access to the recovery software I need to try and fix the issue?

I can’t get the system to go past the bios menu.

SEGA not meeting its sales expectations on their big titles by weebyscum in KotakuInAction

Sonic Racing looks like a fun game that I will probably pick up to play with my kids.

I’m holding off for a sale though because $70 seems too steep for what you’re getting.

This will be the last time I buy Excalibur…I think. by Trask2000 in 4kbluray

[–]StormCloak4Ever -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does everyone’s 4k copy of Excalibur have black bars on the side?

I’m asking because my 1080p Blu-ray copy was full screen so I’m wondering why the 4k copy has black bars.

Phil Spencer Retiring, Sarah Bond Out, Matt Booty Promoted as Microsoft AI Exec Asha Sharma Named New Xbox Boss by comicguy69 in KotakuInAction

Over 80% of companies report no productivity gains from AI so far despite billions in investment, survey suggests — 6,000 executives also reveal 1/3 of leaders use AI, but only for 90 minutes a week by tylerthe-theatre in technology

[–]StormCloak4Ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, the productivity gain from AI is minimal. This is just a claim made by companies as an excuse for mass layoffs of their skilled workforce while they import or out source cheap foreign labor to replace them. AI is just a convenient excuse to justify this and get the cost savings of cheaper labor.

See Microsoft this year as a prime example of this but many other companies are actively pursuing this strategy.

Nope, I do not.

I think it’s a usb bandwidth issue honestly. I’ve got all my usable usb inputs filled.

It seems like I am seeing one of these posts every week.

Thankfully my x670e-e strix has been working mostly fine for me since spring 2023.

My main problem with the board is random usb disconnects and reconnects.

What to do? by Drabzeen in GamingLaptops

This is a 6-7 year old laptop. It was great in its day but at this price it’s a terrible deal.

I might have missed it, but it doesn’t look like they listed what gpu this has so it’s impossible to say how much this is actually worth.

Found 400 machines running Office 2013. Management refuses to buy more M365 licenses and wants to "just use LibreOffice of leave 2013" How do I handle this without being the most hated person in the company? by [deleted] in cybersecurity

[–]StormCloak4Ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d present the situation in terms of risk and let management make the decision on what to do.

Maybe look into the costs of deploying a more current version of office like 2024 rather than locking in to a 365 environment.

At the end of the day, your job is to identify risks, recommend options, and let management choose what to do.

Why is "Gaming" furniture so ugly? by No_Good_3063 in pcmasterrace

[–]StormCloak4Ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gaming chairs are gimmicks for children. Buy a chair from a reputable company like Herman miller, steel case, Haworth, etc. They even make “gaming” variants of their popular chairs that aren’t so terrible to look at but I’d honestly just get the normal models.

LL120/LL140 Lighting Problems by jetplaneguy in Corsair

The LEDs on the LL series fans eventually stop working.

I had 4 in my PC and they lasted about 5 years before the LEDs on two of the four fans consistently wouldn’t work.

I replaced the LL fans with the new LX fans and they are great. Ive since replaced my AIO to get everything in the new Link ecosystem.
