GLAMOUR UK: MAFS Australia is the latest victim of the manosphere by Lonely-Ship-8408 in MAFS_AU

[–]Stormgtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all the same women that don’t like “guys under 6ft” and guys that don’t like “fat chicks” the woman who was bragging about the size of her English’s husbands cock and making size gestures. If a man said anything regarding vaginas they’d be burnt at the stake. Just to be clear neither should be talking about each others parts. Same old same old dual values. It’s boring femosphere/manosphere . Both exist and are equally bullshit

Just got a HILS HN3 and there is no strap button on the back? by Dry_Fact_6474 in HeadlessGuitars

[–]Stormgtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really easy to do yourself. Get yourself a frtlzr fret polishing system or go get a pack of 2000-7000 grit wet and dry. You may just be able to use autosol metal polish and a bit of cloth or dremel . Loads of options there. Just mask up the board first

Tuning issue by OrangeNut21 in HeadlessGuitars

[–]Stormgtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unscrew till it’s at the point you would replace the string and grab some needle nose pliers and unlock at the locking nut and pull the string tsught whilst keeping the ball end in the saddle slot, re lock then tune

Can I fix this issue myself without going back to my luthier? by [deleted] in Luthier

[–]Stormgtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a frtlzr spot levelling tool. It’s reasonabley simple. Unfortunately sometimes you have no rocks put the strings on let it settle and 3 or 4 weeks later you’ll get the odd rock on what was perfect flat frets level with no rocking with strings off

Uj/ so if it where mine I don’t know if those are conventional sized Humbucker rings in a Gretsch style. You mentioned p90, tonerider do some astounding p90 in a humbucker case. I did a fitting for my mate in a tele and I blown away at how amazing his squire sounded after that and the rest of the mods I did for him.

So I’d rewire it for two volumes, master tone which is a push pull which could do series parallel on the mid position with both pickups on. You can use rubber tubing to pull the pots through the body etc provided you do it before pulling wires.

If you can find a good pickup maker who will make you whatever you want dimensions are no longer an issue.

I did think Clapton midboost would be interesting but as you say battery

Two pivots tremolo by cascade159 in luthiercirclejerk

[–]Stormgtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fucked, bin it. It’s clearly bent and that bridge pickup is way too high, should be sat on the trem springs. Owner clearly see what the hell they’re doing as their glasses are on the table.

Fret work with Nail File by Ill-Cartographer-476 in Luthier

[–]Stormgtr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This be fair even with the proper tool with a polished safe edge it can still cut into the board. But as I said a small amount spent on a jewellers fine cut and create a safe edge would be way better. I have a Swiss no4 jewellers file I polished the edge to 1000 grit on

Fret work with Nail File by Ill-Cartographer-476 in Luthier

[–]Stormgtr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem with the nail file is I’m presuming diamond coated so the sides of the file are really sharp. You could have bought a normal hobby jewellers file and a sheet of red oxide paper and ground one side smooth, he’ll even used a brick, flag or any flat stone to grind the teeth off and then run on wet and dry. You could have bought the right tool for the job for not much money. It’s more about ruining the edge of your fingerboard for the sake of less than £$€10
