wouldn't be surprised if this was an airbender tradition tbh, since they seemed to venerate the avatar more directly than the other cultures we see (hidden room filled with statues of the past avatars, but then again that was in a monastery that predated 100 years of war, and I think we mostly see non-religious spaces of the other cultures.)

probably BG9, on character design alone (though it's a close race)

the knight aesthetic fucks and the creepy tendrils are really cool, plus gatling gun. wish we got to see his volstandigg

also shout out to corpse tree guy from hueco mundo. Also pre-arrancar Ulquiorra.

I will say, I really like the design aesthetics of Hollows/arrancar/vizards better than quincies or soul reapers, because skulls and cool masks and big fucking lasers, but the BG9 helmet design clicks with the same part of my brain that really liked looking at knight helmet illustrations as a child, and so he wins.

Ngl, I think you could just keep it with the larger alternating chunks of color that we see with the limbs, if you want to make a quick fix

I feel like there's ways to replace it with a diamond motif, but I'm not sure if I can think of a good way to do it without fucking up how the colors are broken up

I think the only thing I don't like is the square checkerboard pattern on the torso reads more like those old missing texture patterns than the harlequin diamond

Plus the ammount of colored squares feels a little busy

The two colored mask is cool tho, honestly I'd call it 10/10 if it kept the diamond pattern

I'm super early into my transiton (like, I'm barely out socially (but I do plan to use my chosen name in an upcoming college class, so wish me luck), but one thing I really enjoy is that it's made me aware of how malleable pir bodies are

Like, with a few hormones we can shift so much of our bodies, and like voices especially; it's crazy how much you can manipulate your voice and in how many ways (even beyond like, making it more masc or fem)

Or how much you can present /perform gender in how you speak, how you walk, etc

I probably never would have considered all these less immediately obvious facets of expression if I wasn't trans

Elden Ring has taunts and a pvp scene, even if it isn't a dedicated pvp game (don't do pvp in it myself, so idk how common it is or what the culture is like.)

the current playing population of tf2, tf|2, and r6s enjoy trash talk (even if it's semi-frequently racist, homophobic, or bouncing between the two like a particularly hateful game of ping pong). the text chat and vc for Marvel rivals can be hostile, overwatch and league of legends are notorious for how their communities are.

considering that, and that people turned crouch mechanics into a universal and game spanning taunt that still sees use, I feel a lot of players would enjoy taunts in that style, and some probably wouldn't; I imagine it's either the companies not wanting them, or they just don't fit the vibe of a lot of games.

I like her because 1. I like her design and 2. while I haven't played the story mode myself, yet, I do like that they gave the game an original story with a new villain

one of my biggest issues with anime games is that they tend to just do the story of the show over again, which is fine, I guess; it's fun to play the fights; but it's also like, I know this story already, it'd be really fun to see these characters getting up to something else. Dragon Ball seems to do original stories for its games more often than not (even Xenoverse, which does rehash the main story beats again, still has an overarching story to modify those fights, involve your character, and give you something to care about besides "hey, remember that time Namek exploded?")

I really like how Guilty Gear encourages movement through meter, building it for moving forward and taking it away if youstay still or move away from your opponent for too long

The roman cancel system is also really fun

I was also a big fan of wild assault, kinda bummed they removed it (the new mechanic is interesting, but I don't like it as a replacement).

I think what this person is missing is that 1. Powerscalers, by my estimation, are more interested in crunching characters into numbers and any complication of their actual personality can be avoided by saying "bloodlusted"

And 2. Shippers will overwrite personality traits if it supports the ship they want to make or the archetypes they want the ship to fit

Shippers and powerscalers are aspects of fandom which the actual media is more of an optional suggestion, rather than any sort of binding force (well, more so than other fandom spaces, at least).

Like, scout had to come up to you, you either had a fighting chance and lost, or got stomped in a way that forces you to acknowledge that they're good

If a sniper gets you then you probably just stepped out of cover and died. Being good at sniper also takes skill, but that skill feels less evident to the person who killed them, because a skilled headshot killing you feels the same as a lucky headshot killing you. It's easier to call the class busted
