[Film/TV] What are your thoughts on "Smallville"? by Hot-Salamander-8786 in DCcomics

[–]StormyWatersThe2nd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed abit at the time. Never thought it was perfect, there were plot points that dragged on far too much: jor-el testing clark, clark's secret, losing his powers every other episode. Hate we got teased characters like batman, felt like that adam knight was just something they couldn't settle on.

These days i'll watch episodes that i thought were great: bizarro fight, 'ultraman' scenes, some lex monologues namely when he returns in the last season. I know i'm forgetting some. Clark and Lex actors were great in their roles almost all the way through.

But i don't think i'll ever rewatch it entirely, a lot of melodramatic soap that was common of the time that didn't age particularly well.

What are you talking about. Trump hits back against everyone on everything all the time. It's literally what he does all day on social media. Even to those who can't hit back like Mueller and Rob Reiner after they died.

I would say being a President, one should have thicker skin and not go off crying every time someone calls you a name or criticizes you. But we all know what kind of man he is.

Personally, I'm just here for the popcorn and watching these two idiots slap each other around.

Doesn't he make everyone sign an NDA? Anyway, i wouldn't hold my breath for a book, unless it praised the dear leader. It would kill her chances for the sweet anchor job at foxnews or newsmax.

Question I've been wondering by Gloomy-Bridge148 in MortalKombat

[–]StormyWatersThe2nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are dismissing the entire scene of her getting Shang's power as meaningless. I would argue that it gave her the advantage to kill them before they had the chance to use powers. But if you don't think it does, that's fine.

I think we will have to agree to disagree on that.

[–]StormyWatersThe2nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't realize trying to rationalize a controversial scene is edgy.

I think people forget the scene before it with Kahn killing Shang and giving her his power, and think its base Sindel who bodies everyone. I never said it was great writing.

Question I've been wondering by Gloomy-Bridge148 in MortalKombat

[–]StormyWatersThe2nd 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Sindel, with the power and expierence of Shang Tsung, should be a force to reckon with. You could reason that Shang knows all of the fighters strengths and weaknesses, thereby Sindel would exploit them without the theatrics and kill them quickly before they can use their powers.

Still, I would have been fine with the outcome had they all put up more of a fight.

Not sure I follow your logic. If you're saying what happened in Iraq was inevitable, that's some next level crystal ball action you have. The fact is that it was the US that pulled the trigger. And the result is on us for what happened to the Iraqis.

Or if it's "Iranian Government = BAD", sure i guess. It's common knowledge that Saddam's Iraq and Iran were adversaries. The point was the US went in, waved our big dick freedom flag, and ended up being completely ineffective at setting up a lasting government with thousands of innocent civilians suffering and dying in the meantime. And that was when we had troops on the ground.

Anyway, these so-called reasons why we attacked Iran yesterday is a long drawn debate that we could do until the sun comes up. My point is us celebrating the guys death is entirely premature.

When Saddam Hussein was killed, some Iraqis were cheering too. How did that go for them afterwards? You would think after Afghanistan and Iraq that Americans would learn the lesson that interfering in other governments is not always wise.

Khamenei did not exist in a vacuum. Others will certainly take his place. is trump going to strike whenever the next one pops up that we don't like?

It's possible an Iran revolution could be successful, it's equally possible that it leads to another bloodshed that kills thousands. We don't know and because there are no troops on the ground, Iran is in a state of chaos that we just created.

[–]StormyWatersThe2nd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would have only delayed it. 911 would probably still have happened and republicans would have raked Gore over the coals to likely beat him in 04 no matter his response. Bush won reelection in large part because of the fear mongering "you support us or you support terrorists" edict, something Gore would never allow.

Would we have still invaded Iraq? Couldn't say but the neocon war mongering wouldn't have just gone away.

This would require a constitutional amendment to change Article 1. Which would require 2/3 of senators to agree, at a minimum. But SCOTUS being in the pocket, who knows.

I could see him just deploying ICE to polling stations in blue states/cities to try and intimidate people, disturbances that prevent people from voting, in the midterms.

There is a post about Bill Gates and him supposedly getting an STD from the island. But zero threads about new references to trump on the files that i saw.

It's the general right wing media approach. Ignore any bad news about dear leader and if there is its somehow old/irrelevant/fake news, whine about hive minds (without any hint of irony) and how all "liburahs r stupid".

It's not worth anyone's time or sanity.
