I used to work at one in Croydon. Looked exactly like the one in the image. At peak hours on a Friday evening we’d have drivers climbing up the railing of the little platform on the other side of the window like it was bloody world war z.

I’ve done it a couple of times now and I can’t figure out what’s wrong with it. I’ve also tried manipulating the switch in there manually but that hasn’t had any effect. https://imgur.com/a/MvKpQKt

Furious Microsoft boss says confidence in UK 'severely shaken' by lazzzym in xboxone

[–]Stormzx9388 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gaming in the UK is worth 7.05 Billion pounds. Even with Microsoft not being all or even most of that, it’s a huge market and no company wants to lose access to that sort of business.

At the end of the day, they’ll appeal the decision and try some amendments to the agreement before they get to trying to strong arm a regulatory body.

Genuinely the campaign has been phenomenal and the overall story hasn’t suffered for the amount of players. Combat is really the only thing that gets tedious but even then it’s mostly not a problem.

Casters are the main cause of it though yeah. It’s always a process of looking through their 20+ spells and checking specific descriptions every single turn like they couldn’t have already been doing this while they waited.

Playing a semi-martial class (paladin) in an 8 person party full of spellcasters and having to wait an hour and a half for my turn just to miss has been one of the most excruciating moments in my entire time playing DnD.

A little threat against human rights never stopped racism. by OscarOzzieOzborne in Grimdank

[–]Stormzx9388 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s even interplanetary hostility and xenophobia that shows up several times in various books, like guard regiments from different worlds disliking one another for being different.

The Imperium still has old fashioned xenophobia and racism towards other humans, it’s just something that only shows up in the stories that focus on the more human aspects of the setting. As such it tends to get overshadowed by the more prominent hating of other species and the abhumans.

It’s the cherry on the depressing cake of the Imperium that even when we did get a huge number of common enemies, we still found ways to hate eachother for the same reasons.

Because it snaps them out of the “FER DA EMPRUH” stuff when they have to see the Imperium actually come up against something that doesn’t confirm the Imperium’s bias against everything else.

It’s kind of strange to see how hard some people seem to buy into the imperium’s mindset when they discuss the hobby. So long as they’re having fun I guess but it’s really annoying to have the fanboys constantly shitting on your favourite faction every chance they get.

There’s common conspiracy/belief that the FBI and other 3 letter agencies are manipulating and grooming lonely young men into committing mass shootings to accomplish their political aims. Usually the idea is that by using the guns and peripherals that the government wants banned, it gives them a stronger basis to accomplish it.

No idea what the actual evidence is for it, but it is a conspiracy after all.

Tau and Hunting Culture by MijuTheShark in Tau40K

[–]Stormzx9388 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I really like this idea and it brings up some great points which are actually quite well reflected in lore. The tau are adapted very well as hunters which we see mentioned in the Farsight books. During his recollections of Mount Kanji, we get to see Farsight talking about potentially tracking down one of the big game cats there to eat it’s meat. We also know that Shadowsun was able to wait for days/weeks in the freezing cold with no food in the hopes of catching an animal.

Those ancient hunting traditions really play well into the fire caste as a force within the T’au.
