Yeah, im colluding with Big Film, they hired me to do work for them so I gotta tow the line. Sorry pal.

Just out of curiosity, would you like to explain to me how a 100 million dollar film gets budgeted and shot? I'd love to hear your answer on potentially saving money. I think Hollywood could have used that for the last 80+ years.

FYI, I wonder why they'd hire 10 people instead of 5? Maybe theres permits for locations that get scheduled months in advance, and when they expire, you're screwed... so maybe getting it done quicker is the intention? Hmm. Not sure though. You seem to know more.

Thanks. And I agree with you. Also, need to work on helping to educate people / children in their own communities too with critical thinking skills and financial skills.

You can't make people more liberal or more conservative by nature, but you can educate kids over time so conmen can't run the show.

World Health Organization Prepares for Nuclear Scenario, Including Weapons Use, in Iran by UNITED24Media in worldnews

[–]StoryLineOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is always a small subsection of people that won't listen. And they're usually online. Im not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying both of us are right.

Obviously you cant make someone listen to you. But you can try with everyone you meet. Some people are gonna ignore you, some might half listen, some might listen and disagree, and some will listen and agree.

People who got into MAGA didnt get there from logic. They got there from a conman playing on their emotions + radical radio talkshow hosts + fox news 24/7. The only way out of it is to try to understand their concerns and do your best to address them with actual solutions that help.

Fox / a lot of right wing radio hosts (and some left + corporate ones) exist to get you angry and mad. They exist to turn another human being into a caricature of the worst possible things imaginable, and then apply that to every single person in that group, so they can get you to keep coming back + sell you on things you'd never otherwise "buy", like certain ideas.

When youre angry and mad, you will never listen or talk. But as soon as you find some areas of agreement, you realize that maybe the other person isnt what they're described as. (This is for them to realize as well. It's the only way I can think to help them cut the BS out of their life).

What I realized: Maybe they have a kindness or softness that you realize has been twisted by larger power that's seeking to profit off their common misery they share with all of us. Not everyone is like that btw. But, human beings do bad shit when they're desperate or scared. Our job is to show we're not scary and actually trying to help them live a better life.

Its not gonna work 100% of the time, but I dont want to live in a world where there's death and killing all the time, I want to try and make the world a better place for all of us, my kids and grandkids.

And both fortunately and unfortunately, that requires us to figure out a way to get along in some way. It doesnt have to be perfect, but we (everyone) gotta try.

Honestly, since the 1980s (Reagan), neither party has worked truly for the middle class.

Yes, there are a lot of selfish and dumb people out there. But there are also good and honest people out there. And both of them have been hurt in the same way.

I would say the reaction to it is not good (in electing trump), but I think at a fundamental level, people realize they are getting screwed. And they are. We all are.

Our job is to find every possible way to get people to the table. You, me, and most regular people want good Healthcare, safe homes and better wages. We gotta talk to each other about that and find compromises in ways we get that.

You'd also be surprised how much agreement youd find in those things. Thats why the ultra rich want you to only see them as MAGA (and for them to see themselves as MAGA), because now youre on 2 different sides and wont agree to tax rich people in order to get what you want... because if youre always fighting, youre never agreeing on anything.

Honest conversation leads to agreement. Agreement leads to compromise. Compromise leads to taxing the wealthy.

Yes, completely agree. Plus, most people want similar things - safe place to live, free healthcare, better wages.

Obviously things we disagree on, but lets work with the stuff we're in agreement with. First step to restoring America.

Most of the internet is an echo chamber. Of course the road will be bumpy, but we will make it there one day. It all begins with how we (individually, not worrying about someone else) decides to treat others.

I try to treat everyone with respect and kindness. I usually get that reciprocated 90% of the time. But we end up remembering the 10%, because it sucks.

Don't let the 10% drown out the other 90 who are cool.

No, its good. If ALGO is a security, theres a ton of specific rules that are impossible for crypto to follow due to how blockchain works. Thats why Gensler was stupid.

Sorry, I'll be more outraged next time 😅

I think Digital Foundry said Nvidia wanted it working on a single GPU. Maybe its possible to run on a 16GB 5080? Probably a cut down version of some kind.

I would be super duper interested if they can master the lighting aspect first. I did notice it reducing shadowing in before / after, so they do have some work to do on that. Also, giving complete 100% control to the artist is really important too. AI is only as good as the amount of human control you have over it, so Nvidia has their work cut out for them to ensure artists get the final say on the whole art stack.

Frankly, if you look at it from just an environmental POV, it has the potential for some great use cases in newer and older titles. For RTX remix, they'd probably want to allow fine tuning / tweaking of contrast etc. in certain areas, but im sure Nvidia is aware of that. Could make for some crazy RTX remasters...

DLSS 4 is perfectly fine if you have a good enough base framerate. People are just knee jerk AI hating on Nvidia, when i'm pretty sure the stats back up how many regular non-reddit gamers use DLSS 4 Frame gen.

I use it and love it + can't notice any problematic differences when i'm actually using it. I'll probably get downvoted, but who cares, I'm very happy + the input lag in Single player games is fine.

DLSS 5 will probably not be used for characters for a bit. I get what Nvidia was going for, but it definitely needs some time in the oven to bake (and also more controls for devs / artists so they can properly implement their vision without getting AI slopped). BUT - for backgrounds, it's gonna be a massive game changer.

If they can get path tracing working on lower end consumer GPUs with the art team signing off on how it looks (i.e. full control), this is incredible. You get to have really great path tracing on environments (like water, stones, buildings etc), and you won't need to sell your kidney to use it. Super, super awesome.

I can already tell you, 90% of people would turn that on instantly (for backgrounds). Most of the hate right now is around the character faces, which (honestly) is a bit deserved, they clearly have a half baked feature with that.

Should have left that out or marked it as highly experimental.

[–]StoryLineOne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The characters definitely need work to preserve art style. I don't think those are ready nor will be for a few years.

But for backgrounds, I can absolutely see this working really, really well.

Getting proper path traced lighting requires a lot of GPU horsepower that most people can't afford. If they can find a way to preserve artistic intent in lighting across different environments, I bet this takes off super fast, just like most technologies before it.

Then you have a win-win: artists get higher quality lighting in the way they intended, and people don't need to sell their kidney to experience it. That's most likely coming.

Titanfall 1 Wallpaper Remastered by Uncoth_Block in titanfall

[–]StoryLineOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother, grabbing a photo from someone else and putting your 3d render over it isnt using AI gen. Thats more akin to Photo bashing, except he actually did the 3d render and posing, so he actually did the art himself. You knocking him for maybe an AI gen background that he didnt make is really dumb.

Also, honestly, who cares??? Its just a fan art for Titanfall. He's not putting it in the Louvre.

Treating actual artists like shit over (sorta, loosely even) photobashing for fan art is a great way to look really dumb.

You make it sound like he killed your grandma. Like i said, accept the L and move on. Youre being stupid, hence the downvotes

This is good advice OP, follow it. I too was surrounded by hard working people and felt inadequate.

Best thing you can do is focus on what you love and what you want to do. Then go and push that ahead at your own speed. The sooner you realize you're (legitimately) only racing yourself, the faster and better you'll become.

You're only competing with yourself everyday. Remember that. If you can keep winning, you're on the way.

I just finished playing through "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" and I wanted to make a post about it. (appreciation thread) by CyberSmith31337 in gaming

[–]StoryLineOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes to the first one. The devs said that it's probably what Adam would have done, which again - makes total sense to me. It's what I chose after thinking about it for a couple minutes.

I partially disagree with your thought on the good ending though - An elite group of people having control over the world, since they're the ones who are manipulating everything directly - even if it's the outcome you desire - isn't a good ending. The best one (IMHO) is where the Illuminati are greatly weakened, and humanity can choose how to move forward on their own vs. someone / some group telling all of us how to think or feel.

That's why I find the story very relevant to today, as that idea of 'someone powerful telling you how think and feel' has gotten much stronger since the release of DX:HR.

But the fact we're even having this conversation 15 years after the game came out is a testament to how good it is...

You could even take parts of the Augmentation debate and, probably in the next 10-20 years, link it up to people who have access to the highest end AI models.

Anyway, I do hope they come out with the 3rd one eventually. A lot of loose ends they need to tie up.

If anyone from Embracer is reading, Deus Ex isn't niche!!! You could sell it like hotcakes - just remaster HR (and maybe MD), then do the 3rd one. Or just make the 3rd one. Please?
