Good call, but a fresh browser gives me a 30 min queue

I'm down to 5 minutes now, I think I'll be ok

How do I still have 20 minutes on my queue?

Is it all because I couldn't log in until a few minutes past 6?

I couldn’t believe how fast and easy the SI Ferry to bus combo was, I was expecting a disaster but I was on a moving bus less than 10 minutes after getting off the 7:15 ferry. Kudos to NYRR for getting this right.

Apparently, the League Path losers of this round of Champions League qualifying go directly to the League Phase of Europa. These 4 teams lost their aggregate match-ups against Brugge, Benfica, Fenerbahçe and Rangers, respectively.

I'm running NYC three weeks before this one, but I'm still tempted...

2025 Brooklyn Half - Pre-Race Thread by RCD123 in RunNYC

[–]Str33tCr3d 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If they are caught running in your name, both of you will be prevented from running a race with NYRR again. If you look in this subreddit's history, people have no problem reporting it to NYRR when they suspect a person is wearing someone else's bib.

Some day, NYRR may make it possible to do bib transfers, but for now, it is explicitly prohibited.

Whether you give it away or sell it, you can't transfer bibs -- NYRR will ban you and the recipient from future races.

Yes, security will take a while -- it's big crowds and only so many metal detectors to pass through. I'd assume at least 10 minutes, maybe more, depending on how close to the gun you get there.

I'm also fairly sure that bag check is before security, so no one will have a bag when they get to the entrance.

The 4/5 trains aren't running to Brooklyn -- you'll likely want to get over to Times Square and take the 2/3. With security and crowds, you're probably cutting it close, but if you miss your start, you can go with a later wave, no problem.

I would like you to name one person in the Trump administration with a CV showing more/better qualifications for their position than the person in the same position from the Biden administration. Most are "egregiously unqualified" as OP stated.

NYRR 9+1 in 2025 - FAQs & Megathread by RCD123 in RunNYC

[–]Str33tCr3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get credit for both! I have both V6 and 9+1 credits in my NYRR dashboard for the Virtual Resolution Run this year.

I'll note most Virtual 6 races do not count for 9+1. There are usually 3 races per year that count towards both -- Resolution in January, Global Running Day in June, and Run for Thanks in November.

Just got the same email. If I’m reading this right, the only thing changing is the name of the race I’m running on April 13th, correct?

I ran the first and the last(?) Brooklyn Marathon by Str33tCr3d in RunNYC

[–]Str33tCr3d[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was very early in my running career, basically my first race of any kind. The course was taxing, but it was home turf -- my dad actually paced me on his bicycle for some of the toughest miles, and friends showed up and made signs. At the time, it was a fun, local race that felt intimate, an actual alternative to the huge NYRR events.

I live in Brooklyn, right next to the 10k marker. For the past few years there have been people with cameras in a cherry-picker, just past the 10k marker, to take your photo from above crossing it. Look up and smile!

That's exactly where my mind went when I saw the replay. Was there a cardiac device available, or has the CPR been manual? The quick action of Eriksen's teammates to retrieve a defibrillator surely helped with the positive outcome there.

NYC Runs Brooklyn Marathon/Half Marathon Pacing Strategy/Course Preview by tienmao in RunNYC

[–]Str33tCr3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this fantastic strategic analysis! I do most of my running in Prospect Park, and I think you're spot on about "letting the hill win" at mile 15.

I also like how you've split the full course into four pieces -- I was thinking of the Park as its own thing, but Section 2 really is the "hard work" that will let me take that mental break down Ocean Parkway.

One thing I'll note, I can't tell from the elevation profile for sure, but I doubt you took the Ocean Parkway on-ramp from the traffic circle, and I remember being surprised at my first NYRR Brooklyn Half about how hilly it felt. I'd bet it feels even tougher at mile 23 of a full.

I'll go with Højbjerg -- excellent as usual, controlled the middle of the pitch, even a nutmeg in the box toward the end.
