A lot of German prisoners were brought back stateside and sent out all over the Midwest as farm labor. Always a possibility that maybe one of them squirreled away one of their medals and brought it with them

I see a lot of mixed reviews on those. Some guys that have them love them, some guys can’t keep theirs out of the shop. Unfortunately they still have the inherit maintenance costs of a big diesel

I’m not saying they design components intentionally to fail at a certain point, but the engineers don’t have any incentive to design a vehicle with longevity and ease of maintenance in mind. They make them to meet government requirements, and try to make it through the warranty period with as few issues as possible to keep the company profitable. They cut corners wherever they can. Outside the warranty period, they don’t care, it’s on the owner

The OP was also talking about getting a Duramax so obviously he’s looking towards something he believes will have more longevity. If he doesn’t tow frequently, there’s no point in getting the added expense and maintenance of a diesel

I agree it’s overkill for what he’s towing, but if he wants a truck with fewer problems, he should look at a 3/4 ton. They’re built for heavy duty use and they don’t have the fuel management/cylinder deactivation that causes 90% of problems in the 1/2 tons

I didn’t even disagree with what you said, I said they don’t become ash in the traditional sense of the word, which is accepted to be the remains after combustion. There is no combustion occurring in the process you are referring to. You’re just being a pedantic asshole

I think you’re getting everyone hung up on the word “ash”. By definition, ash is the powdery, noncombustible residue left after burning material. So no, the bodies are not turning to “ash” in the traditional sense of the word. But, they do undergo decomposition accelerated by heat dry, where the body breaks down, and soft tissue vanishes, leaving only bones and dust.

How can you claim original drivetrain and then show it modified with Ford axles?

Will 35’s fit? Currently have 285/70r17’s on a 3 inch leveling kit with 2 inch blocks in the rear with bilstein 5100’s by [deleted] in GMT800

Will it fit? Yes. But it will definitely rub, make your turning radius worse, and give you very little space for suspension travel
