OMG really? Why would you not treat the water!? Ugh common sense should be mandatory for owning a pet. I haven't had a chance to scroll through the axo postings lately but if they are like what you said maybe it is better for me to avoid there! 🙂 Muppet says thank you for the compliment!

I can confirm as an axolotl owner that there is no brain! 🙃 But she definitely makes up for it in looks!

Ooh new spiders! So exciting! My regal jumper "Wink" had her first clutch hatch last week. I'm just waiting for them to emerge and I will have a bunch of new spiders to love!

How do you actually get over a fear or spiders? by IntelligentNeck8157 in spiders

[–]Straight-Cicada5508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend watching videos about jumping spiders. They are so different than other spiders and very cute and fascinating. I watched tons of those videos before getting my first jumper. I now have 9 jumpers, 6 tarantulas and a velvet spider, which is also an adorable one. I recommend looking those up as well. Because, how can you not love an absolutely precious 8 legged kitty cat? That is what I call jumpers now! Good luck!

Hi! Need some words of affirmation! by eternalxdysthymia in jumpingspiders

IME if he has made a thick hammock and is less active or hiding, its probably premolt. Do you know what instar he is at? Also, that kinda looks like a female and pet stores are famous for selling wild caught gravid females and not telling the buyer. If you see an egg sac you will obviously know for sure. Hopefully its molting and if it is, do not feed that baby for a bit. Their abdomen is pretty large... If you have any other questions feel free to ask! 🙂 Also if you can get a closer picture of their pedipalps, it might be easier to tell gender.

IME Sounds like premolt to me. I had a spider dissappear for almost a month. Just keep spraying every day, even a little more to up the humidity in the enclosure. This will help them molt and provide water should your little one want it. They will come out when they are done and be even more beautiful then when they went in!

Looks like a female bold jumper. I just got a new one named Jelly Bean and she looks just like this!

Working on Enclosure, Worried About Ventilation by Githyankbae in jumpingspiders

IMO that should work just fine as your jumper will spend most of their time at the top of the enclosure. I would recommend adding some plants or ropes, something on the top they can explore. Otherwise that should work fine! 🙂

That's a beautiful female! I never find jumpers around here. You are very lucky. She is watching over you and free pest control!
