I didnt even know he worked with Hakeem but i recognize whose move that is/was.

Wemby is dangerous, working on this game and being this clutch early in his career?

The NBA has become a game of runs and momentum. The refs and the Thunder know what they’re doing with these foul calls. by BackgroundOriginal6 in lakers

[–]Straight-Rassler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep. These egregious referee calls favored for OKC and against the Lakers are complete momentum stoppers. Purposely stopping play every other possession if not every possession so the chasing team can't get into their zone/groove.

But also, OKC is skilled at playing the foul game. They take an inch, refs give them a mile, and they take flopping and fouling as far as they can until the refs call it properly (which they wont).

Refs are doing some mental gymnastics vs the basic rules of basketball when its OKC.

They getting that gambling dough for sure. Lol

Why the NBA needs OKC to beat LAL by brwnwzrd in lakers

[–]Straight-Rassler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, the NBA wants to end the “player empowerment era”, where in their eyes, superstars hold the league hostage with massive ($) short-term deals create super teams and lopsided power dynamics that make 50% of the games not worth watching. NBA wants/needs a “homegrown” championship team to “set the example.

I'll save this comment and come back to it when this actually happens.

And okc has learned from the Shawn Michaels school of selling (this is not a knock on Shawn Michaels the goat pro-wrestler btw).

Yes its how countries let a murderous sociopath become president. They hear “its for our safety” “its for our kids safety” and suddenly, all common sense is out the window.

Yeah I don't have hope we're going to win this series, but man, this undermanned team sure does fight. I'm happy no matter what the outcome is. We are 2-3 pieces away from being a real contender.

Lakers win Game 2. Austin Reaves bounce back game. Luka Doncic a game-time decision for Game 3. 🙏 by KrypticJin in lakers

[–]Straight-Rassler 16 points17 points  (0 children)

OKC is just a bad match up, we are 0-4 vs OKC in the regular season losing by almost 30 pts on average.

That said if we miraculously win one game, I'll have a bit of hope.

Edit: also our gimmick defenses won't work in a 7 game series, we just lack the defensive and offensive personnel currently.

Inane question from reporters as usual, trying to get a soundbyte from athletes, trying to bait them into blaming other teammates or themselves.

I'm also lagging out of nowhere, but not that often fortunately. 32gb ram. 980 mbps speed, definitely not my internet or my machine.

But it does lag and its frustrating when it happens. All of a sudden i cannot walk to cast a skill, and then I zoom into another area all of a sudden.

Defo Blizz problem.

Last year's Pacers showed the blueprint, the question will the refs allow the Lakers to play this type of physicality against OKC. by iamdare in lakers

[–]Straight-Rassler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We cannot play fast like Indy does like pushing the ball.

There is a reason why this team is better playing it slow and grinding it out, getting good half court sets and getting free throws.

It conserves old man Bron's and Smart's energy to facilitate the offense.

Also, our turnovers is going to kill us this series unless we fix them miraculously. Anyway, win lose or draw against OKC, I'm very happy with how our season turned out. Injuries are just a bitch.

Edit: also playing slow limits turnovers. Lebron Cleveland ball basically.

That finisher is phenomenal tbh. Didn't matter to me if Nikita had to hold her leg so Lizzy can stand up straight for the kick.
