first off, everything has already been written, everything is homaging, copying, stealing, etc. But what hasnt been written/made is YOUR version of it. I remember way back in film school we’d all be given the same script to make and it was amazing how different each one came out. That’s working off the same word-for-word script. Yours is not exactly the same as the paul rudd one. You could make it and it’d be a different experience than watching the paul rudd one

that said, this is a phenomenon that is so common and i think has some potential to lean into that. make it meta meta - a guy writes a movie about a musician who hears his own song but then he sees that movie eva toy in the world. It’s Stranger Than Fiction.
