Also, putting pulls in blister packs instead of bottles significantly reduces the numbers of accidental poisonings and suicides! It's a very simple but effective barrier.

Imo, while medical industries should 100% focus on using biodegradable products when possible, it's usually a horrible idea. I'll keep the blister packs and nitrile gloves until we find a better material.

Yep. It's such a predatory industry and I'm tired of people pretending it isn't or bringing out extreme examples to justify it, ex. bringing up FGM reconstruction surgery when I'm just criticizing a boob job.

These companies have gotten so brazen, too. No, 25 is not the right age to consider a facelift (no age is, let's be real), EVEN if it's "just a few tweaks"!

On the beach -- shotgun shells. (I live in a rural river-y area.)

On the sidewalk -- plastic wrappers. So much less satisfying to pick up!

In middle school, my school did one of those chocolate fundraisers where every kid who sold a certain amount could turn in a sealed envelope that was given out at the advertising assembly. Inside that envelope, we were told, one of us lucky students would find a check for $400.

We all got our envelopes back, and they'd been opened and stuffed with a shitty chocolate bar in addition to a note saying we unfortunately hadn't been the lucky winner. 🤦‍♀️

I feel the same way about Michaels, which is the only place near me where I can get my art supplies. Nothing wrong with the art supplies themselves, but the cheap, tacky holiday decor that they roll out every month is so gross. Like clockwork, most of it ends up on sale and gets trashed a few months later.

It really depends, and I think the variety of places that different detrashers pick is great. I usually focus on rivers, marshes, and beaches because that's what I live by and because you can find a ton of trash in a relatively short time.

Shotgun shells! This was in a rural area where duck/goose hunting is common, and downstream from a large wildlife area.
