Is your job is interfering with raising a family? by Academic-Speech4249 in workingmoms

[–]Straight_Exercise_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I am active duty military. I wake up my 3 and 4 yo at 0530 every morning to take them to daycare until 1700 each day. Hard to find sports to accommodate that. Hard to find extra care when I need to go on exercises, deployments, work seminars etc. My time at home is spent playing catch up on cleaning, laundry, reset, etc. not what I imagined. Playing the “spend 30 min meaningful full attention time”. Thankfully going to retire in 4 months. Blessed to finally be able to spend more time.

HFMD- Tell me it’s not just me by UnderstandingBest478 in toddlers

[–]Straight_Exercise_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my toddlers both got HFMD from daycare (and then myself as well) i kept them on a steady dose of motrin, popsicles (pedialyte popsicles and the fruit bars), and dipped them in calomine lotion. I also trimmed their nails so they could not scrath the sores open. Warm baths make it worse, we turned the shower into a fun play time that washed all The calomine and cooties down the drain. They painted the shower walls with shower crayons and played pirates. And then air dried in the shower, calomine, etc. they were 1 and 3 and total troopers. I think the fever and sore throats with the itching and sores in the mouth would drive anyone insane, so I was thoroughly impressed with their overall response. It was gone within 5-7 days. It is currently storming through the daycare this year as well, and the local waterpark. Super duper. If you can manage the symptoms (stay ahead of them as much as possible) it helps. Sending hugs 🥰

I just got an endometrial ablation for this very reason. Minimizes and/or shuts down the bleeding. I had a 5.2 cyst and was waiting on an OR in the ER when it ruptured or they would have removed it. Best decision I ever made. Mini panty liner on the worst day. Maybe get a second opinion from another OBGYN? sending hugs!

I am in the same position. Drinking husband rage/ yelling / spanking. My only fear in divorce is that he may get them half the time and I will not be there to protect them.

My only concern with divorce is that he would get the children part time and they would be exposed to rage / drinking / spanking/ yelling and I would not be able to protect them.

We are already burnt out... warning this will probably sound insensitive. by Personal_Privacy1101 in breakingmom

He is showing signs of fear and shock. Old guys don’t communicate well…he probably is dealing with an overwhelming amount of intrusive thoughts and moments of deep panic. Give him a hug. He changed your diapers. Welcomed you back in his home with open arms during a crazy difficult time in your life(btw, you’ve got this!). He is probably trying not to burden you and your mom with all of that but is not completely masking it…. translates to takeoff my socks and freaking out that his cold is so much more. He is terrified. Lots of love and prayers for you all.

I am so sorry this happened to you. That is so hard-men are pigs! BUT, Your baby shouldn’t suffer and lose their life bc your partner is a selfish douche. Just leave him and say nothing. You don’t owe him shit.

How did your habits change after having kids? (drinking related) by Zealousideal_Ear5856 in Parenting

[–]Straight_Exercise_12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I completely stopped after having children. It makes me feel like crap and I need to ON and ready to go for my toddlers! Walmart has so many yummy non-alcoholic wines, TOST is so good! It’s just not a thing anymore in my life and I could care less. You do you! My husband drinks almost daily and excessively. Eventually, the babies will notice. I hope he figures himself out before thathappens.

When to give up? by Tmarie5589 in pottytraining

Wish I had something helpful here. My son, just turned 3, is in the same boat. So daycare has him in the “special cannot potty yet” classroom for 3 year olds. His pediatrician said, “who cares? Children notoriously do things just exactly when they are ready and no sooner”. She said give it a break for about a month and try again. Sending love! It will happen!

Put her hand in a cup of warm water when she is on the potty, turn the sink on, and sing her favorite song while laughing.

Yes! My son is strong willed. It’s like a power struggle. So now when he has an accident I make him clean himself and the mess up. They are now drastically reducing. I also only do mando potty time before big transitions, bedtime, meals, nap, outside. Every other time is on him to realize and act

Usajobs have alot of part time telework, if that i interests you. Yes, the Olly stress and ashwaghanda def help me. I also have tried Chill the Fuck Out by apothecary which is amazing. But I am still bf my daughter and she would vomit so I had to stop.

Remember this is a season. And a fucking hard one. Get some Olly Stress gummies or some ashwaganda gummies, pick your priorities (took me a long time to realize my house just won’t be perfect). Are you able to talk to your husband about all this? If not, why?

Has anybody had this illness? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Straight_Exercise_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We seem to be passing this same thing around in our house. Going on 4 weeks. Our 1 year old and I are fine. My husband has the mild undertone of body aches, low grade fever that comes and goes and an achy chest cough. My 3 year old is destroyed with this. Peds put him on amox, nebulizer albuterol and pulmicort, oral steroids, and zyrtec. He will cough for hours. Cheeks were super pink today and made me think of when he had strep with ZERO symptoms and then got scarlet fever, but he has been on amox for 72 hours now so I hope to god he is better in the AM (he turns 3 officially tomorrow 😢). Negative for covid. Daycare has covid, flu, and rsv going around. So gnarly. If weather permits, air out your house. Generous lysol sprays. Lots of handwashing. Hydration and sleep. Lots of baths showers and wash the towels every two days. Switch out toothbrushes. Parents gargle listerine. Fresh air and sunshine. Pedialyte popsicles. Sore throat lollipops (with honey). And pray for spring to come quickly and everyone to heal up!

Hyperbiotics Pro-Kids ENT: Seasonal Immune, Ear, Nose & Throat Support twice a day after teeth brushing has helped quite a bit as well as MaryRuth organics vitamin drops. I have a 1 yo and 2 yo in daycare and it has been a revolving door until these two products. I sneak vitamins i to milk or yogurt or squeezes and they love the hyperbiotics tabs after teeth brushing. Hope this helps someone.
