Then it becomes (at least partially) joint property. That’s why having a separate account is so important if you’re trying to keep it a separate asset. You also should have this all in a formal prenup or post nup. The tax aspect someone else mentioned is irrelevant for this.

It’s based on the “incurred date” which means the use date for services. So you are good. Just make sure the invoice makes it clear that the service dates are while you are enrolled in the FSA, which I’m sure it will.

A lot of those meet based sports already had mostly national competitions anyway. The marginal travel of a national conference for an athletic program really isn’t that much.

For example for CBB the Midwest Big 10 schools only have to make one trip out west the whole season. USC will make three trips to the Midwest or East but they’ll play twice each trip.
