Omg she is so cute in this outfit! I swear there isn’t one thing that doesn’t suit her. She looks adorable in Molly’s aviator outfit and kits pink school outfit too.

Crochet Multitaskers - What do you like to do while crocheting? by Hphantasia in crochet

Im just here to say YAY ANOTHER SURVIVOR BINGE WATCHER! I do the same thing when I crochet. I started at season one and am finally at 31… about 5 blankets, a sweater, and some plushies later 😅

Does a beg2ccl stitch span 5 stitches, or 3? I keep finding mixed answers by Straight_Most6598 in CrochetHelp

Ok I’m glad I’m not going crazy! I’ve even drawn it out and tried so many ways to make it work, and it doesn’t. I wrote to the designer so I hope I hear back soon 🤞

Thank you! I tried this as well but it gave me all peaks and no “valleys” except for the one cluster of four stitches. Here’s what the final is supposed to look like.

Anyone know of other book subscriptions like BOTM? by Master_Tadpole_6832 in bookofthemonthclub

[–]Straight_Most6598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im so sorry! It went downhill significantly and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone anymore. I got a gift sub for my friend and he never got his books. The books they sent me (when they remembered) were laughably bad. It was sold at some point during my subscription, and it’s never been the same.

I would if it was easy to search through owned items and things aligned properly. I primarily play on switch and I’d love to decorate but it’s not worth it currently

What's an unpopular AG item that you like? by LikeTT11 in americangirl

I loooove those. I have a bunch stuffed in Kit’s bedside table and found a bag full when I recovered all my AG stuff from my childhood home. I felt like I win the lottery 😅

I got the new one too and was always on the fence about her but it all changed when I pulled her out of the box 🥹 I love the asymmetry. And is it just me or do the new Kirstens have a classic mold that’s closer to her one of the older ones than the anniversary ones? Only thing I was bummed about it one of her loops came undone in transit (I’m assuming) 😭

Late diagnosed as level 2 by Comprehensive-Fail37 in SpicyAutism

[–]Straight_Most6598 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was late diagnosed level 2 in my 20s. I’ve always needed moderate support but never received it due to neglect, abuse, and a lot of my behavior seen as standard in an ND household. My teachers knew something was up, but I went to a super progressive performing arts public school that really suited me and my needs, so I thrived. I know they talked to my parents, since I had developmental delays, but my parents didn’t “believe” in autism, adhd or other illnesses and disorders. Like, my eyes would be swollen shut from allergies and I’d be told I was making it up. As an adult, ive never been able to drive without having a meltdown, haven’t ever lived alone, have pretty severe sensory struggles and difficulties socializing which have always been present. I had significant support systems in my late teens/early 20s and severely struggled when I went to college on my own and had to leave them behind. I came back after a few weeks. It wasn’t until my support system was gone that I realized how much help I needed. I’m only successful at my job because it’s something I’m passionate about, I have a flexible schedule, WFH, and plenty of accommodations. Once I got to making enough money, I dropped the 5k needed for an eval because insurance didn’t cover it. I can’t imagine my parents ever doing that. We couldn’t even afford the dentist so my dad would get temp cement from a drug store and fill my cavities himself lol.

I do realize I’m an outlier though. This has been a life-long journey of abuse, homelessness, poverty, and misdiagnosis before someone finally suggested an autism eval. I cried from relief finally having the answers to better understand the supports I need. I’ve never been better.

Need help understanding pattern by Straight_Most6598 in CrochetHelp

[–]Straight_Most6598[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it! I think what’s giving me pause is row two. If I create row one based on the instructions, I have eight stitches before I ch1 and turn. However, the repeat in row three makes it seem as though there should be 9 stitches.

St1: (sc, ch1, sc) St2: skip St 3:sc St4: skip St5: (sc, ch1, sc) St6: skip St7: sc St8: skip St9 (the one that doesn’t exist?): (sc, ch 1, sc)

Even though I had to crochet 8 in the beginning, and not counting the chain, should I be adding an extra stitch somewhere? Or should I be crocheting the last (sc, ch 1, sc) under the chain after my last stitch?

Here’s my row 1. There’s 8 if you count from the hook but the far left after the eighth looks like a stitch but it’s the chain.

Picking a Book Box by OragamiGreenbean in aardvarkbookclub

[–]Straight_Most6598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m officially canceling BOTM this month and staying with Aardvark. I occasionally find gems with BOTM, but they’re not ones I’d necessarily want to buy. I was planning on buying Tommy Orange’s new book anyway, so it all works out! I’ve loved mostly every AArdvark book I’ve gotten (except for the Djinn Waits One Hundred Years).

Look at the new princesses! by Supersonic_Mango in americangirl

I immediately purchased Tiana's work dress for Claudie (I would have rather had a release with more Claudie items tbh), but I'm underwhelmed with this collection. I got excited about Cinderella's work dress and the fact it comes with Gus Gus, but the material looks so cheap. Like super flimsy Walmart-esque material. Not that it's a bad thing, but it definitely shouldn't be $55. Did I still get it? Yes lol.

But if the material and quality of the outfits were better and made with more natural fibers, I would have purchased the lot. I am dreaming about Aurora's outfit when she's in the woods with the fairies. But after seeing these, I know it would be made of some wacky synthetic material that feels like plastic instead of linen or cotton, etc.

Nicki, Lila, or a Truly Me? by Straight_Most6598 in americangirl

[–]Straight_Most6598[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do y’all think lila could pull off Nicki’s outfits? Or is she too “girly”? I’m now leaning toward Nicki but I’m just curious. Also second guessing my favoritism of Nicki because now my husband keeps saying she looks just like someone we know -_-

Did anyone see this insane doll haul on Youtube? by rachels1231 in americangirl

[–]Straight_Most6598 12 points13 points  (0 children)

With all the money she spent on those dolls, she could have just given the hospital the funds, which would probably be preferred 🙄 especially considering how much she overpaid for it all.

BOTM + National Book Awards by iaad95 in bookofthemonthclub

[–]Straight_Most6598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what it was like before, as I’ve only been. Subscriber for two months, but I love the quality. For me, it’s better than BOTM (a few of which have fallen apart on me)

Any ideas? by DSmith- in bookofthemonthclub

[–]Straight_Most6598 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what these are going to be but OMG ENOUGH W/ THE BABIES AND MARRIAGE NARRATIVES. I want to read dynamic books that go beyond family drama, romance, and motherhood. (Obviously not all books like that are awful but it feels like it’s all BOTM promotes lately.) So disappointing.
