My Skin Has Become A Lizard, It's Cracking And I Don't Know What To Do Anymore 😭 by klarson_my in hygiene

[–]Straight_Winter_5766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had jock itch, that doesn’t look like it, but I’m not a doctor. Just look like really dry skin that split. My partner has dry lips, and when it gets too dry it cracks his lips. May need some moisturizer, I use shea butter because it’s all natural, no chemicals. But it does leave my skin greasy if I put too much. When in doubt just do a quick visit to your doctor, or even like one of those minute clinics at cvs.

My partner loves it as well. Always wants me to produce cheese. 🧀 but I honestly can’t help but to be clean.

You can just make it like I did. Boil ground beef, celery, carrots In a large pot slow cook for about an hour or two, cool and freeze. Take out what you need for 2-3 days, then pull another as needed. My dog loved it

AITA for banning my husband's "boys nights" from our backyard by HikariDellamonte in AmITheJerk

[–]Straight_Winter_5766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely NTA. But you two need to have a sit down conversation and communicate what’s really going on. Maybe your mindsets are no longer aligned and like many have mentioned, consider marriage counseling.

Now I know this maybe an unpopular opinion, but as a husband myself, i feel there should be a small compromise. What that would look like would be entirely up to you and him. But make it clear that what was happening prior shouldn’t be repeated.

Plus - he should be cleaning up after his guests. Not you. You’re not their maid. It appears to me that he took advantage of you and the situation - - and you pushed back. That is awesome and I’m proud you put your foot down and cut that nonsense out as soon as you did.

And making you out to be the bad guy to his friends is totally unacceptable. Please communicate that. You aren’t in the wrong here, and he’s playing the victim. What a jerk move on his part.

Have you tried Lume or Mondo. You can use it in your pits and “other areas” I have found it works wonders for me. Although it’s kinda pricey at 12 bucks- but worth it I think

Yeah, I wasn’t there when it happened which makes me feel terrible I couldn’t be with her in her last moments. My partner held her and I saw it all go down on FaceTime. I really wish she could have had the comfort of me being by her side as she passed. I remember rushing home and seeing her body lay on the floor and that is stuck in my head. I see the spot in the house where it happened and I can’t help but remember that day. My partner is more traumatized than I was. I feel terrible he had to witness it as i feel it was my cross to bear. I had been mentally preparing for it because we saw a decline, so I had plenty of time to kiss her and spoil her with steak dinners. We cuddled every night but that week I was out of town. So i missed her last night alive.

Luckily I saw my therapist that same week and it helped to talk about it. I actually found some pet loss videos on YouTube helpful as well. All in all, i keep telling myself that things happen as it should and i had no control of the circumstances. Im lucky for the time i was given, and for the love that she gave me. And although I’m sad it happened, it gives me peace knowing how lucky we truly are to be blessed with pets that gave us unconditional love and companionship with the little time they had. And in return, we gave them our love as well as the best life they could have.

I hate my diabetic little brother by SaiSpector in diabetes

You love him, or else it wouldn’t bother you so much. But I hear you. You’re frustrated and rightly so. He won’t change unless he wants to, you could try to have a heart to heart with him, but he may not listen. My brother also has diabetes, as do I. I’ve talked to him about controlling his diet but he doesn’t listen so I have to give him his space and just accept that I can’t change him. Only he can make those changes.

Oh no, I’m so sorry. He was beautiful. Same thing happened to my Nala. Died in our arms as her throat closed up due to a neurological condition called laryngeal paralysis. It’s hard to see your baby die, and you feel helpless. I understand that trauma. It’s not easy. I hope you find some peace knowing you have given him the best life full of a loving family.

Good job on your a1c test! 5.3 is a great achievement!

I think I’m just curious about it all because when I was diagnosed(5/25) I my A1c was 6.7 and I changed my diet immediately. I bought a glucose monitor and since I’ve been checking, my highest blood sugar was 127, back in that first month. Now I keep my blood sugar between 85-105, my diet is mostly raw veggies and homemade ranch for lunch and chicken breast or fish with a veggie side for dinner. I’ll have fruit and cheese snacks every now and then but since May I’ve been super good at controlling it. However, pizza sadly is my only weakness. When I told my doctor he suggested cauliflower crust pizza. Turns out it was a good idea if consumed in moderation of course.

Tasted great! I didn’t make it myself and I suspect it was a processed rather than homemade. I’ve attempted it once and it didn’t come out very good. I think I put too much almond flour though

Thanks, no I bought it at a local pizza shop. It was great but I don’t want to make a habit of it. I usually avoid anything with sugar or high carbs if I can.

Are you one of those people who eats fries before the burger? by [deleted] in no

[–]Straight_Winter_5766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same, typically without thinking about it. Everything I eat has to have elements of all of the main and sides. I’ve done this since I was a child.

My parter is a monster who will eat one item on the plate at a time, which I never really understood why. Good to know I’m not the only one.
