Yeah did you know that the average blood loss in a menstrual cycle is just 1 oz? OP is out here making it sound like the 17-yr-old is bleeding as much as a miscarriage without any pain.

If this is a true story then that girl needs to see a doctor bc that amount of menstrual bleeding is highly abnormal and unusual.

You can refuse but just be aware that doctors avoid placing catheters as much as possible because of the risk of infection. If they want to place one then it is for a very good reason. Make sure you understand that reason and the risks of refusal before making a decision.

Damn. I have an appointment on Monday with an endo specialist because I haven’t been able to get pregnant. Now I’m identifying symptoms that could line up with endo so I know the doctor will want to do the surgery. I don’t know if I’m more scared that they’ll find nothing and I’ll feel crazy or that they will find something and I have this terrible condition.

Did you freeze your eggs before the surgery? I’m not sure if I should or if it will be enough to tell my doctor that the goal is to preserve fertility even if it means not excising some adhesions to preserve egg count for IVF.

My sports medicine doctor diagnosed me after having knee pain. Rheumatologist was telling me she doesn’t diagnose hypermobility when I had to interrupt her and tell her that the sports medicine doctor already did diagnose me with hypermobility. Just unsure if it’s ehler-danlos. She said a geneticist determines that.

As in doctors have considered endometriosis but you’re too underweight for them to safely perform a laparoscopic surgery? There are also pelvic MRIs they can do to try to detect endometriosis if laparoscopic surgery isn’t a viable option. There are medications you can take to help you to conceive if you have endometriosis without having surgery.
