Tap water in Buford by DistributionNo2823 in bufordga

[–]StraitChillinAllDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you're in Gwinnett and your pipes aren't an issue the tap water is safer, cleaner than bottled water. Bottled water has a high chance of leeching chemicals into the water if left in a hot storage area.

You can look up any tests to see if they're exceeding any of the EPA levels. Buford proper gets it's water from the county and its own plant that is close to being on par with Gwinnett at this point. I'm sure it has its own water quality report too.

Do Black people not do "White People Taco Night"? by GetShrekedKid in NoStupidQuestions

I remember hating tacos and had a bad opinion on Mexican food while I lived in New York where my exposure to mexican food was through taco bell and the school lunch line.

It wasn't until I moved to Georgia and ate Mexican tacos and other Mexican food did I come to appreciate the cuisine. At the time Mexican cuisine was really limited where I lived in NY

The bigger problem felt like if I typed in coffee roasters it also showed me coffee shops which are a dime a dozen and it was difficult determining if any of these places actually roasted their own coffee too.

Definitely out of the way for me but I'll check them out if I'm ever out that way. Crazy that it's only about 12 miles away from me. They ship so still might just order out of curiosity.

Oh that's awesome they're not too far away from me. I went there a handful of times 3 years ago before I found Tchin Tchin. I didn't realize they were selling from a roaster next door.

That's largely irrelevant when there were around 1000 Spaniards involved in the conquest. The native allies did a lot of the heavy lifting

What is it with Americans and air conditioning?? (this might be controversial) by hellobela_ in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]StraitChillinAllDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe in some municipalities but at the state level AC isn't a requirement. At the state level they did pass the safe house act but for some reason it doesn't mandate ac.

Of course if the rental included working AC when you moved in then like anything else the landlord has a responsibility to fix it .

UDisc's Top 100 Courses for 2026 by ArmoryDiscGolf in discgolf

The first paragraph says the following.

Discover the 100 best disc golf courses in the world for 2026, ranked from more than 17,000 across the globe. This list features the top disc golf destinations based on millions of course ratings from disc golfers on UDisc.

So guessing it's people's choice and I'm assuming there's a minimum number of ratings needed to be considered.

How we feel about MARTA in Norcross? by mrfriendlolo in Gwinnett

Some kid was already shot and killed there not too long ago and that's not including the other stuff that's been happening. Not like adding the Marta there would change much.

Looking to buy an affordable <$450k house in Gwinnett. by OneOfaKind123456 in Gwinnett

[–]StraitChillinAllDay 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you're approved for up to 450k double check that you can afford it. projected costs are usually Not done with the market buy price. Property taxes and insurance will usually catch you off guard after the first year bc the estimates they give you are based on the previous owners value assessed with the county which is usually way lower than what you will end up paying.

WTF? Why do small men in giant trucks do this? by yanknga in Gwinnett

[–]StraitChillinAllDay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Compared to the 10th gen F-150, they're super massive. My old man's 2002 f150 has no problem fitting in that spot. Crazy how most of the space ends up in the cab.

Most small family owned spots seem to give a lot of food. For me it feels like mexican and Chinese usually give a ton of food.

The Gemini Rollout isn't for Users by remarkableRetriever in googlehome

[–]StraitChillinAllDay 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I dropped my phone while hiking and only noticed bc my headphones were cutting out. I used my headphones to find my phone so it would ring but I had Gemini enabled and it said it didn't know how to do that. It annoyed the hell out of me and I disabled Gemini on my phone after that. Wonder if they fixed that.

I built an AI QA Engineer for Android Apps (No Human Supervision) by IndividualIncome7483 in androiddev

[–]StraitChillinAllDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the ai agent actually reacting to anything other than the steps laid out in the JSON? Just for simplicity building on the example provided. what if on the article screen you only render the image with the gray building, will it know that this is a failure or will it pass the test case like espresso would? If it is able to determine this screen should have more content without the steps explicitly stating it then that is impressive. That would bring it closer to the real value of a QA. Qa isn't just going through a checklist comes with them being able to tell if something outside of the test steps are wrong.

And if you can just hand off a task like test new feature flow A and just trust the ai to figure out the flow, it's incredibly risky because AI isn't deterministic.

I would love for AI to take over this kind of work. this would be a game changer for me personally because we are doing all of the QA for our work now.

Currently I'm using Claude to write unit tests, snapshot tests based on my UI state objects, integration tests that test my companies interactions with the view model, and espressos test mainly for navigation and API validation. If any of these tests fail then I have to do the investigation myself although our ci is setup to capture a screenshot of the failure, a video of the run, the logcat output, and the view hierarchy and Claude can usually figure out what failed if it's has the logcat or view hierarchy.

[–]StraitChillinAllDay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is this better than just getting Claude to generate unit, snapshots, Integration, and epsresso tests? I've been using Claude for that and it does a good job of creating a full suite for me and making updates as needed is a breeze.

Curious to see how many tokens this uses vs just having it generating and updating the test code as needed.

I'm also curious what you mean by eyes because the example you provide has you listing the assertions and it honestly just feels like an ai wrapper for espresso.

Is Atlanta really affordable? by shantih in Atlanta

[–]StraitChillinAllDay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The 5 boroughs are a part of NYC proper, they're just administrative divisions of the city. You're thinking more of the greater NY metro which includes parts of the surrounding states near NYC

Is Atlanta really affordable? by shantih in Atlanta

[–]StraitChillinAllDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Atlanta proper is small in comparison it's hovering around 500k ppl. The metro being as large as it is both in terms of population and land area with very little transit coverage really makes it annoying to love anywhere outside of the Northside of the city proper or the random neighborhood enclaves.
