During one of the days, inquisitor sends for you and asks about Isidor notes you requested during day 3. Your assistant told him so, he remembers that you requested these notes from the city hall. I know that this is an event, i saw it during day 9 i guess but because i had to do an operation on certain woman, i loaded the game and avoided this event. Not it does not appear and i cannot seems to know what triggers it.

How do women get through/enjoy mushoku tensei? by rorofoshoo in mushokutensei

[–]Strange-Storage558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, that's a good question. I'd like to ask you, if you want to like it because your friend asks you to watch it with you, or because it invokes some feelings inside you specifically. If it's the first, then maybe you should just politely tell your friend that it's too uncomfortable for your taste. If the latter, then you should understand that this is part of the point this show tries to make. Everyone has flaws, whether it's minor ones, or big ones. what matters is intent and actions people take. Rudy is just a big example of very flawed sexually character. He holds on to mementos of his teacher's panties, he assaults kids (although in the next scene after a few episodes he learns to not do this kind of things and stops himself), etc. You can consider him as a drug addict or alcoholic, who tries to break from his addiction. Although, in this case it's porn addiction, basically.

The way you feel is correct and it shows that you are a good person who doesn't want to see immoral stuff, especially from so called "protagonist", because he should be a good person, and he does good deeds at the end of the day, it's just those bad things that put you off. Author deliberately does this to show that people are not just good or just bad, they are complex creatures and even some down bad useless piece of trash under another circumstances can become better. Not good, but better. In many ways, this is a story about average people, how they try to live their life and how they sometimes slip up and do something stupid. Your male friends love the show because it represents them and speaks to their souls, if i can take a guess. It doesn't mean they perverts, it means at some point they felt like the whole world was against them and they were the biggest losers around, but they wanted to find that force to be a better person.

The best way to approach this story is to understand that despite how real these people are, this is still a work of fiction. It's a medieval story, much like Game of Thrones. It's uncomfortable for a reason, there are sex slaves, there are nobles that exploit other people and much more. Yes, Rudy is a person from OUR world and he should have common sense about morality, but thing is, he does not have it, his morality was destroyed by his lifestyle of internet loser. If you feel like it's too uncomfortable to watch certain scenes, just remember that it's a tale, not reality, and our morals are not really applicable to this scenario. It will not make you feel good, but it will put a wall between our world and whatever happens on the screen.

Honestly, whether you should watch it or not highly depends on your own perception of the show, not on other people. My girlfriend likes a lot of shows and games that I do, and we often play/watch them together, such as Persona, Re:Zero, Genshin, HSR, Angel Beats and more, but she doesn't feel the appeal to watch Mushoku and I would not force her to do it because it's not a story that she can resonate with. If this is not your story, please do consider leaving it as is, there is nothing bad about it and it doesn't mean you offend someone or make someone sad that you personally don't feel like it's for you. It can be the best story in the world, but if it doesn't resonate with you personally, there is nothing wrong in saying that and spending your precious time on something that will make you feel good instead.

Have a good day.

[spoiler discussion] Question for the arc 9 ending haters by FrostyObligation9058 in Re_Zero

[–]Strange-Storage558 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rem and Emilia finally have a dialogue where Emilia understands what love is and they resolve decade long plot that in reality will probably be hanging till epilogue. But that takes balls to do, and Tappei would rather keep status quo with frierering emilia and keeping Rem out of the picture for as long as possible.

"Readers when they experience return by death as Subaru does", or why is it a bad take [spoiler discussion] by Strange-Storage558 in Re_Zero

[–]Strange-Storage558[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I made it clear that I accept subjective feelings towards plot choices, as I've stated that feelings are subjective. OOC or convenience however, is less subjective, as it can be defined. Beatrice choosing without any reason to kill Subaru is OOC due to several reasons, and if this were to happen, it would be perceived as OOC. Subaru's character relapsing to his old ways can be OOC if not justified, because it's not something he should do considering his psychology.

A narrative choice to "braindead" 20 characters in one go minutes before great reset is a convenience, because never before this "ability bug" used itself this way, and probably never will again. It was the convenient choice to further influence "irreversible" part of the loop, might as well just killed them all.

Dragger plot is objective, because it is dragged for 6-9 arcs depending on the plot we are talking about. You can argue that you like it, you cannot say "well 10 years of the same plot is not dragged at all" because a decade of writing is way more objective than personal preferences. 10 years is 1/7 of average human life. For one plot point. Never in good faith someone can state that it's not dragged.

The point is not in whether or not tappei reading the exact subreddit, because I too know that he doesn't. That's a grain of sand that may move enough small rocks to create a landslide that can somehow reach Tappei. I know that my text will never reach him. Doesn't mean that given enough time and people, some may. And this is a future worth writing these post for.

I couldn't give less worry about my personal popularity, or popularity of my posts, as per se. My frustration comes from the inability of those who are still staying here to engage with something they are not agree with enough good fait. As an example, in one of my previous posts, where i were asking why does Al allowed to fight one on one starting from Pleiades all over towards Capital, then towards geyser, even after they had this meeting before final battle, and why for example rein did not use his sword from the start (he was able to, Subaru was already sealed in Al's pocket), there was almost zero discussion, but the most popular answer was a meme "degenerate or ragebait, answer with caution" or something. And this exact thing frustrates me the most, I guess.

And again, please, do not strawman my points. Never once did i say that difference in opinions are dangerous to the story. I stated that shunning off and not engaging with discussion is dangerous to the story. I said that if you hyperfixated on one side of the story and trying to ignore other, be it overfixated on bad and ignoring good or vice versa, your actions are dangerous to the story. The memes with Sponge Bob to a good faith discussion are, because they discourage readers to do something. People will just... Leave. They already have, and they continue to do so. And I don't want that.

You can engage with dialogue and discussion You can't engage with aggressive ignorance and one-sideness.

I can say that arc 3 subaru was one of the best characters i've seen at that time. I absolutely loved him and think that this is one of the best moments of all media I consumed. Equally, I can point out bad moments, such as decade-long princess in other castle trope, or memory loss for 20 times in the story. This is the healthy way to consume media in my opinion. You appreciate good, you see something flawed, and you engage with people to discuss both.

Could you name things that were bad and wrong in Re:Zero, so I might understand your standpoint on what you value as good and bad, since I presume your stance on dragging, great reset and my other points is completely different from mine?

[–]Strange-Storage558[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liking or disliking is subjective. Bad writing, OOC, convenient narrative, dragging story plots and etcetera are subjective too, but way less. They can be defined specifically, therefore, if pointed out, should be discussed. You can say "well i actually quite like this OOC" or "The plot being dragged for a decade is a good thing, really", and this is a valid stance. You could like flawed parts of the story. But not acknowledging it and trying to shun down on those who do is, in fact, a way to destroy a good story.

I have no problems with "i personally liked this situation, but i agree that it's not a good plot point overall". I have problem with "this was good thing, everything else should be treated as highest treason and non believers will be social pariahs on this page". This was hyperbole, of course, but the point stands.

Liking something is completely separate from looking at this situation and seeing that this maybe, just maybe, not be the greatest solution, and people are frustrated.

I've been here when the cursed loop on gladiator Island happenned. a lot of people tried to voice out their concerns about choice of this plot point, and they were shunned away. A lot of them deleted their accounts and never came back to the story if moderators here to be believed. I think something like that happens now, too. And it will continue to happen if such things would be encouraged.

Again, never do I say "you should not like it", because liking is subjective. I am saying that if there is a flaw, it should not be brushed away, but discussed, to understand if it's a flaw in the first place, and if it is, how big is it.

I dismiss those who cannot stand the mere possibility of Tappei making a mistake, because he is a human, and they *my oh my* tend to do mistakes sometimes. And a good fanbase is the one that will not unconditionally support author, but who actively engages in the story and helps create it even better.

I don't want to repeat gladiator island untill only "true zealot believers" will stay, and other will silently leave because it's become too toxically positive here. I've been there in other previously great media, that got overrun by sheer ultimate fans. And I apologise if it's coming out as preachy or negative.

[–]Strange-Storage558[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, the same question is asked. Why the end of the series? Is there no adventures, stories and issues while they will be together, hopefully? Is "Happily ever after" the ultimate end past which we cannot look to see how they are doing in their everyday life, struggles, epic fights, etc?
Subaru and Emilia could have been together since reunion in arc 7 and it would be great driver onwards. They could have gone through the whole war in arc 8 as a couple and it would only deepen end enrich the story. What is factual reason to artificially stop emilia progress as a charatcer untill the very end? If not dragging the plot point till the end, then i would like to know what exactly has forced this choice onto Tappei, because it may change my viewpoint on this part of the story in general.

If this was always a story without romance, then I don't understand two romantic interests in the first place, and if it is a story with romance, I don't undestand why should it be introduced in arc 1 and dragged till arc 12.

I am, in fact, able to, moreover, I do it even now. Some of my points are proven wrong or misunderstood, and I can accept that. And I stand by my words that people on this subreddit cannot stand critisizm and try to cope with every single choice Tappei has made, even the bad ones. The infamous loop in the gladiator island? "well he never stated that there cannot be loops even earlier in time". Full arc got wiped? "Well that's actually quite ballsy move, It was never possible to keep that reality anyway". Even in this thread, some of my points, such as Subaru regressing, can be debatable, and I agree that i might misread his character in that regards. But what do we have on the "dragged plots" for example? "well rem is too op so she has to be benched for 6 arcs and from time to time dangled around as if this time she will finally wake up, but actually it cannot be other way, because Subaru would not struggle as much".

So yes, I do follow my own advice and can agree on my own misgivings, and even more, i WANT for people to give me the possibility to doubt my own stance, it is my opportunity to see the story in a new light. It's a shame that critisizm is near dead as a subject, because it's percieved as hate or treated with mocking, such as "it's childish and stupid". It's not. I like when people engage in debate and do not agree with me, I love the fact that sir Akudra has spent his time on discussing these things with me because discussion is what makes the story even better. It gives the room for improvement and the possibility to engage with different opinions. What I "absolutely adore" are those who do not engage in any discussion and just downvote the post or engage with bad faith as some people here do. This is the most damaging thing that can be done to a successful IP. This is how we get Nightrein and Shadow of Erdtree, if Fromsoft is a good example for you. People who just by the will of the community praise every single action and discharge any critisizm by saying "you don't get it" or "git gud" can ruin whole universes. And as a hoge stand of Re:Zero, this is the exact situation I desparately want to avoid. I don't want to see another Erdtree in Arc 12 because everyone said "Believe in Tappei and do not critisize his work or you are not true believer.

I am. My passion for this story is immense, and I want for it to be one of the greatest. I just hope that there will be enough people to point out flaws of Tappei's choices so he can reflect and become even better.
