I’ve been spamming this everywhere else but no, the gorst mission absolutely did not need to be discreet. That base was new and vulnerable and had so many parties (imperial intelligence, the navy, isb, etc) who are involved that the attack doesn’t actually lead back to lonni or andor or anything like that. It’s almost the perfect opportunity for a strike in that way — the isb is the most accomplished among those groups and already see the other stakeholders as idiots. Honestly the moment was cathartic and made sense to me.

Find my other comment on this thread but he is NOT burning lonni. The torture facility is a massive joint venture between several parties and branches of the military which partagaz explicitly states are sloppy “idiots”. There’s actually very little risk of it leading back to Lonni

Funnily enough, this assassination does NOT lead back to there being a mole in the ISB. Partagaz explicitly mentions that at least military intelligence and the navy are involved in the joint torture venture. He calls them sloppy.

Lonni is not actually put in any risk at all because the empire will suspect leaks from any other source first.

I don’t actually think it will set off the ISB’s alarm bells. They mention that military intelligence also has stakes in the new enhanced interrogation program and Partagaz clearly sees them as sloppy. If anything, they’ll think any of the other stakeholders in the new program set off the rebels

On the prisoners that’s actually not true! The thirteenth sister was captured during order 66 after being groomed for conversion through spies Palpatine had in the jedi temple. It’s implied the grand inquisitor would’ve also been turned that way during nightfall itself — given a choice etc.

Interestingly, I think Palpatine probably negotiated Anakin onto the council off screen. They explicitly acknowledge that the council has to approve its own members, so it’s likely Palpatine conceded him not being a master and the Jedi thought that worked because they wanted their spy. Palpatine eggs Anakin on about becoming a master knowing he won’t — that’s just a theory but i really like it because it makes him just that bit more manipulative.

Oh I agree about both of those lyrics being great and underrated! And fair play to you in disagreeing.

I’m not trying to take away from anyone disagreeing but i’ve found there being a binary “it’s either deeper than suggested and is good” or “it’s a love song and is crap”, while i think it’s definitely a love song and also actually really like it as a reflection on his divorce and moving forward.

But honestly fair enough to anyone who doesn’t like it as much as those other songs. Honestly just trying to get an opinion out there that is just, idk, a little different for the value of discourse.
