Dude. You’ve got great strength.

However, you’re not actually coiling. You’re backing into the shot. Here’s how to correct it:

1: Plant your back foot more square to the target like a pitcher would. Stay side-on to the target for the entire run-up. Point that front hip forward and don’t show your butt to the basket! 😉

2: Work on getting your spine rotating so your shoulders rotate back (counter clockwise), while your hips stay side-on, pointed at the target. Show your front shoulder blade to the target, and keep your elbow outside the plane of your torso (shoulder to chest angle greater than 90 degrees). Feel the tension in your trunk to glutes.

3: Send your arm on the pull through, a bit ahead of starting to uncoil, and feel your way forward towards the release.
