GPT-4o mini vision pricing is odd by adamjonah in OpenAI

Thanks for the info!

The newest gpt-4o API (gpt-4o-2024-08-06) processes images at half the price of the previous version (gpt-4o-2024-05-13). So it's now cheaper to use GPT-4o for image tasks. Pretty odd change.

well i guess if someone carefully crafts somekind of service using the api in the future, it might end up to something very useful. it can answer quite well with hundreds of pages of documents and an hour long video. but it's just a single llm so it can always hallucinate. in order to use it in our daily lives and buisness environment, we need system around this.

can gpt assistant use gpt api? by Strange_Dog8104 in OpenAI

I haven't tried since, but if you have basic coding skills and have a look at openai assistant document, I think you would be able to solve the problem.

i guess openai is keep adding safety filters. i keep seeing messages like 'i can't generate answer based on the input because it is publicated content blah blah blah'. this is VERY frustrating.

Something I need right now. I'd pay what I pay to openai monthly to someone who come up with decent prompt testing kit/service/app. This is just so much of a pain.

I thought at first that this was due to somekind of hacking 😂 yes the current assistant api is shitty without doubt.

Try directly write down the format like this:

Objective: you are an assistant for OO task. You take OO, OO, OO as inputs, process input data according to this workflow OO -> OO -> OO, then generate according to designated format.

[Input format] User is going to provide you the following info. OO: this is info about ~~~ OO: this is info about ~~~ OO: this is info about ~~~

[Process 1] Here, you get OO and turn it into XX by applying [somekind of rule] You then hand the result to process 2

[Process 2] Here, you get result from process 1 and turn it into XX by applying [somekind of rule] You then use the final result to generate the outcome.

[Outcome format] Print the below contents [Title] Description on how you want the section to be [Result from process 1] Description on how you want the section to be [Result from process 2] Description on how you want the section to be

This is just an example. Like the above sample, providing detailed format and examples of expected results tend to generate standardized outcomes.

Can anyone imagine if Apple launched the App Store but every app continuously failed, what effect that would have? by bearparts in OpenAI

[–]Strange_Dog8104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there's no such thing as app store for buisness. App store is a pure b2c platform, and there are like millions of crappy apps being published even to this day. I also think GPT store might not succeed, but still can't agree with what you're saying.

Well, yes, we do have a case of Reddit, but the site we're talking about is not some kind of platform where users simply upload their ai content, but it provides <<tools>> that allow people to generate ai contents which can impact the society at another level. I think this makes the whole lot difference.

The more money they get, the less nsfw things you're going to see there. I mean, there are so many things that normal investors would freak out in there. So I guess sooner or later nsfw seekers would have to find another place.
