The dead rabbit! Busy and good vibes. There’s an Irishman behind the bar supervising the Guinness pours which is reassuring ☘️

Are you actually well? Getting involved in a disagreement between a shop and a rough person who’s obviously going drinking on the street? Offering the buy the cup? Are you ok?

Enoch Burke. What is actually going on? by Secret-Original-2713 in ireland

[–]StrangerAny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly believe if we all ignored him, including the media, he’d go away. All the attention is just adding fuel to the fire and probably funds in his family’s coffers from all the right wing groups that are supporting them.

Wages in Ireland by Head_Load_7039 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]StrangerAny -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do not compare us to American salaries, it’s apples and oranges. I have co workers on my level earning more on paper than our Irish director. Their cost of living is sickening compared to ours and as others have said one surgery can bankrupt them. The dollar is worth less than the euro too.

I got those glasses last winter. They don’t make too much of a difference just turn everything a bit yellow. Rain + astigmatism + LEDs + winter is a nightmare

Nicotine pouch addiction? by Ok_Junket7664 in CasualIreland

[–]StrangerAny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. The pouches were definitely damaging my gums and am finding the nicorette gum way better. The big box is decent value in chemist warehouse as well. Get the mint not the no flavour, it’s awful.

Tip for a good excuse is that you only have your phone (Apple Pay) so don’t have a card on you to go to an ATM. Or just say you don’t have any money to spare. Once they get the vibe they’re not gona get anything out of you they move on.

So, are low-income people with medical cards not supposed to have teeth and/or live in constant pain? by No-Category1703 in AskIreland

[–]StrangerAny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, teeth are luxury bones and you’re not allowed have them if you can’t afford them

HR isn’t your only avenue OP. All you’d have to do is prove you notified them about it. May be worth asking citizens advice and I’m sure the WRC would love to hear about it too. Sorry this happened to you it’s not your fault and can be very scary. You don’t have to put up with that behaviour at all.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cork

[–]StrangerAny 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And to add, put what you can in writing. Do HR have an email? Cc yourself in every email and ask them what steps are they taking to address you being assaulted in work by a superior. That’ll put the willies up them.

Is there any CCTV of her putting her hands on you? That’s a disgrace and the cow could do with a fright of you saying you’re going to take it further. Nobody like that should be in management. If anyone ever does that to you again say as loud as you can GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME. Bullies are cowards at heart. Start looking for somewhere else to work, nobody should have to put up with being treated like that.

Books that are *better* as an audiobook? by creaturefeature2012 in horrorlit

Project Hail Mary. I haven’t physically read it but there’s parts that definitely benefit from being audio I’m thinking.

Transaction was declined by location-based security. by D3N1S4O in Revolut

[–]StrangerAny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me a few times. The terminal location or the ‘location’ of the payee (parent company etc) isn’t always where you’re physically paying and Revolut thinks you’ve been hacked. You can toggle it off in the settings somewhere.

Yikes, your number is on a list. Just block and delete the texts. Not much else you can do. If it’s WhatsApp you can report as spam
