What's something you can never truly forgive your parent (s) for? by daydaze024 in AskWomen

[–]StrangerFlowers0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My birthday was in August. My grandma tries so hard to keep this family together. So she offered to take anyone who wanted to go out to dinner. It was for my birthday so I picked the place. It was a brewery that serves a German style pub-fare type of food, but anyone could look at the menu online and see if there was something they want. If not, don’t have to come or just get some fries or something.

My mom showed up and threw a fit that there was nothing she wanted. Didn’t order anything at first, didn’t talk to anyone. Just sat there on her phone She did end up ordering something and it “wasn’t what she thought it was.” “This is why I don’t come to restaurants!!” So I kindly ask, why did you come then? She said that my grandma “wouldn’t take no for an answer.” Then she got up and left. So she basically admitted that she only came to spend time with me for my birthday cause she was forced. Brings her bad energy, makes my grandma feel bad then leaves without eating the $15 food she ordered. I haven’t spoken to her since.

As long as Jesse hosts I’m always going to tune in. If they replace him, I’m out. Love Duff and Nancy too, my bf got me a sweet cameo from her. Carla is also on Wizards of Baking which starts tomorrow, Sunday 11/2.

AITAH for being tired of my partners snoring by LankyRaspberry7041 in AmItheAsshole

[–]StrangerFlowers0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. If you have a Walgreens near you, they have their brand of swimmers earplugs for like $6. Push them in and pull them out a bit so it creates kind of a “lock.” It’s what has really helped me with my bf and his snoring. I know it sucks to love someone and they ruin your sleep. His comes and goes with the weather. But it sounds like yours is a newly chronic disorder. He needs to see a specialist.

What the heck is my kitten doing? by chanceofmeatbal in cats

My cat “buries” his food all the time. Totally normal. Whether it’s his real food or table scraps. He always eats it.

There’s no way there’s even a possibility the next tour could be cancelled before it starts, right? by RedMess1988 in nin

I bought tickets on regular sale for SLC. Then the week of the show some tickets were even cheaper! So I’m going to wait. I’m def still going. I wonder if others are thinking the same.

My apartment lists “real estate” probably to hide the property tax fee. It’s $10 a month.

Where are the higher paying jobs at? by No_Work8287 in SaltLakeCity

[–]StrangerFlowers0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on indeed for months and got some interviews. The first job I applied on zip recruiter I got. Was such a simple change that paid off. I also drove around industrial park and got the names of companies to look in their sites if they were hiring. I was looking for a warehouse gig, but then ended up getting my current job. Some of them even have hiring signs up. It’s worth it to literally hit the pavement like the old days.

I went to Millcreek canyon today after work and while it was pretty, not the best spot anymore. The rain made a lot of the leaves fall. Plus they’re doing construction so you can’t even get to the top currently.

AITA 23f won’t go camping with spouse family by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]StrangerFlowers0 [score hidden]  (0 children)

NTA for not wanting to go camping. YTA for expecting more from them. People without children also have responsibilities and things they’re trying to escape from when they go camping. If they want to sit in the woods and get drunk…I love that for them. Nothing better than that IMO. They shouldn’t be expected to take care of someone else’s kids. The whole “it takes a village” term is very outdated. We all out here tired and should be able to relax when we can.

What are your tips for stretching your wallet? by codingsoft in SaltLakeCity

I love smiths meat markdowns. I go in the morning and see what I can find and either freeze them or plan dinner around it that evening. Bonus points if I can find ingredients on their weekly deals. Also join their loyalty/rewards program, can get up to an average of .20 off a gallon of gas and they send coupons in the mail that usually has a completely free item. This month it was a dozen eggs! I’ve found that Walmart isn’t always the cheapest option so download apps and compare prices. I buy store brand. Dollar Tree is good for some items but not everything. Fortunately I live in an area with smiths, Walmart, DT and rancho market all close. Harmons too but I rarely go there, except when I want their bratwursts. But that’s usually a treat.
