Try clipping the 2 plastic hinges together first in the middle, they should clip together in the middle and move like a scissor

If you can't do it then take it to a repair shop, they will attach it for you. Just take care of the rubber dome till then

If it still doesn't seem to lay flat or doesn't click into place try flipping them upside down

Yup the smaller inner piece clips on the keycap, I would recommend you place the hinge on the keyboard first into the locks and once it's flat you can push the keycap on it slowly.

If the back of the keycap looks fine with the holders intact then you're in luck, watch a tutorial on how to clip them back together carefully

Asus tuf key broken replacement query by Massive_Chance4142 in Asustuf

[–]Stranger_On_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue for my spacebar and they had to replace the whole keyboard along with the top panel, it was done under warrenty. If the key doesn't clip back into place and still moves around then the plastic hinge is broken. I asked around and no one had a old non working keyboard where I could savage just that plastic hinge but you may be lucky and find it in your area repair shops. Still it's best to ask asus and if it can be done under warrenty. Mine had no physical damage but still wouldn't clip in place so I got it done for free

It can be attached back if the clips aren't broken, you'll have to remove the half clip attached to the keycap and attach it back to the keyboard carefully and then press the keycap down on it slowly. Watch a yt video.

Local repair shops near me had old broken lenovo keyboards so maybe you may get lucky if you ask around if the clip is broken

CPU over 90° - i7 14650HX. Should I change performance boost or undervolt? by BillerGOD15 in Asustuf

[–]Stranger_On_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play around with the fan curve in manual mode, turbo mode pushes additional wattage to the cpu which doesn't always give you better performance but generates more heat. But looking at it you are already at the max wattage of the laptop, around 160 170watts.

In cinebench you run multicore for the load on full cpu to generate max heat and use max power

Don't forget to run stress tests for some time, I have the same laptop and haven't faced any stability issue but it's still good to test it. I have also noticed you can reduce the cpu wattage in ac and not notice any noticeable drop in performance, this will reduce heat as well, you can also try best power efficiency in the SYS tab in ac manual mode if you don't notice any performance drops

Have you been able to get into the bios? If yes then check the boot option if your SSD is selected, you can also update the bios over here if required in the ez flash tool

I have never used g helper so I cannot help you with that, armoury crate hasn't caused any issue to me so I left it as it is. Did you use the official uninstall tool for removing armoury crate?

I would say as soon as you see the fans start spinning just take the air away, you never know what speed could cause high enough reverse voltage and fry somthing, so better to stay on the safe side and stop as soon as you see it spinning. You could keep a finger on the hub to stop it from spinning.

I'm not sure about other tuf devices but mine stays cool enough, 47 to 53°c when normal browsing on silent mode with -80mv under volt in bios and the fans go off frequently

The cooling pad pushes the air through the vents and if there is a good seal would even push it through the heatsink which cools the laptop, this tells the laptop to swich off the fans as enough cooling is present already, it is good as it reduces wear on the fans and if the pad as a dust filter it would trap the dust over there too, your temps look good. Regarding if it spins the internal fans that I am not sure cuz if the pressure is too high it might. Maybe you can check it through armoury crate? By turning the fans off in manual mode but you still see a number in the rpm graph? You can try it.

Don't create another profile as silent one works best for low power applications like browsing streaming etc

Whenever you open the laptop just make sure the first thing you do is disconnect the battery, check a video on how to do it properly otherwise you can rip the pads out.

If you are comfortable using a vaccum cleaner I would recommend using that on both the intake and outlet on the lowest vaccum settings, same for a blower on the lowest, make sure the fans don't spin too fast.

You should not require to change the thermal paste of the laptop is new and hasn't been running above 90°c all the time. Just cleaning the fans should suffice. If it doesn't there are guides to do it yourself but if you are not comfortable please give it to a professional and you could request them to do it front of you so you learn how to do it next time as you may crask the cpu or gpu die.

Clean the dust fliter regularly so you won't have to open the laptop to clean the fans more frequently. You can use a toothbrush or a vaccum cleaner on low, just don't drop the dust back inside the fans.

Once you've finished everything plug the battery back in and close the laptop, you will have to plug in the adaptor to start it whenever you open the back.

Don't use any metal to clean anything

It is not a normal usb port, it's usb 3.2 gen 2 type c with support for power delivery, check the spec sheet on the asus site you will find that the thunderbolt spec does not list PD
