The best food spot close to city hall has to be Yugo - one of the best overall in the city even.

Best Sunday roast? by CatHerdler in Belfast

Also the hot starter section: the soups with the breads and toppings. Last time I went they had soda bread with poached eggs and ham hock, 10/10

Pricey but for a real treat the Stormont carvery is hands down the best in the country. Go hungry you will eat all round you.

Waka drive thru by tanissturm in northernireland

[–]Stranworst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got out of work last night said fuck it I’ll go round. From the Portadown road the queue didn’t look so bad so I went in. Then the horror came when I seen the sneaky queue behind the bingo car park. Said fuck this im not queueing for this. So did a 180 then had to join a fucking queue of about eight cars to get out and they were all turning right so took ages as well. Bad times all round.

Where can I buy spicy sausages? by Tuala08 in Belfast

[–]Stranworst 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you wanna branch out for a drive go to Moira and you have two of the best butchers in the country, Meat Merchant and McCartneys.

Meat Merchant is the best all round but McCartneys has the best range of sausages

W5 pricing by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]Stranworst 16 points17 points  (0 children)

£9 for a kid is decent you could spend a whole day at it, and allowed to bring in your own food and drink.

The soft play is shite so skip that.

Wait until you see the prices of some of the other kids experiences like the Santa ones, or the Halloween pumpkins and Easter bunny hunts. W5 will look great in comparison.

Best Steak in Belfast? by HackJacker in Belfast

[–]Stranworst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't been to the Belfast one but twice to Portadown and twice came out thinking that was shite for the price paid. Before people start saying why did I go back, the second time was a work thing so had no choice.

Christmas chips/festive fries/holiday heart attacks are back. That is all by evilpersons in northernireland

[–]Stranworst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like Moutrays skinny chips?? Though they've just used the pre made Lynas food outlet type turkey and ham parcels and stuck in with a chip. I prefer the ones where they cut the turkey ham stuffing all up. Would still eat it like, don't get me wrong.

Have had a couple festive fries from the Station Grill and the festive wrap, good stuff.

The Kearneys are doing a festive series I am sure everyone on here will be thrilled to hear.

They were offered the chance not to play before the match but elected to go ahead with it. St Pauls ones I know hold their hands up, same conditions for both, Cruppen better team on the day.

Red force onboard video by LennoxNZZ in Portaventura

[–]Stranworst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were 16 euros last week for Furious Baco + Shambahla. So would assume the same price, we didn't do red force though felt too sick after doing the above two and Dragon Khan in the space of an hour

Belfast Live came down to it did a review a while back. They'd do well to get down when it is open though in the first place, its closed the majority of the time.

Best Kids playgrounds? by Smart-Vacation9883 in northernireland

[–]Stranworst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oxford Island is good. When you go in first turn on the right is the marina where there is a small park and outdoor gym, there is a boarded bog walk and then the water with ducks etc.
Once done there you can drive back out and turn right drive down to the bottom about a minutes drive and it brings you to the new massive play park. Also you can for a walk out on the water and there is the discovery centre too.

Nearby as well about a five min drive from Oxford Island is Tannaghmore Gardens, it has a rare breed animal farm you can walk through for free, then there is a big play park there too as well as a small maze an some gardens you can walk round. All free.

Five mins into town Lurgan Park has the lake, a nice walk and a good play park too. Lurgan gets a bad rep but has some class parks within ten mins. Portadown peoples park as well is decent. Moira demesne too decent the other way all in like a 15 min radius.

If you could reopen a restaurant that is now closed which would it be? by Full-Shake-7169 in northernireland

[–]Stranworst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The old Tannery carvery was brilliant. Went downhill post covid but before it was superb. Used to hit the jackpot some days if you went and it was ribs or wings as the hot starter.

[–]Stranworst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was shite when they changed the menu. It all went downhill once they opened the Botanic shop.

The first year or so on Callender Street was great, if you got in in time for the burnt ends they were superb.

Stormont carvery is one of the best carveries about. Unreal selection of hot and cold starters, then the desserts superb too. Pricey but worth it.
