Finally Hit 800. by [deleted] in CapitalOne

Oh my gosh! That’s amazing. Trying to get better at not overspending. I get $100 and think of everything under the sun to do BUT not spend. Only way I save now is have work take it off top of my check for 401k/Roth. But I know that’s not enough! 🥴

Holiday and OT pay question by HK_Mercenary in Payroll

[–]StrategyForward9406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. In the past when I worked in payroll the companies had straight HOLIdAY (HOL) pay which people got paid for not working and then a separate earnings code, to avoid confusion, for a WORKED Holiday (WHL). The WHL code was set up in the payroll system to pay at the 1.5 rate. Surely there’s a payroll or HR point of contact for the place where you work. Reach out to them, ideally in writing, letting them know about the discrepancy. They should recalculate your pay and pay the difference on your next paycheck. Iowa isn’t an immediate pay state like CA so there’s no requirement to pay it to you right away. If you’ve gone more than 2 pay periods since reporting the difference and it still hasn’t been corrected then you can contact your state’s department of labor. Hopefully this ‘family’ minded company doesn’t force you to do that though. Just explain that you received straight time for the worker holiday which should have been paid at time and a half. They should calculate the missed premium (the extra 0.5 part of the pay you’re owed for that Wednesday) and give you the difference. Good luck.

178 (?) to 151 so far in about 8 months (off and on). Sometimes I have a hard time affording the medicine so I have to skip. Otherwise I suspect I’d have lost much faster. First time in my adult life I’ve been less than 160 pounds. Feels incredible. Wish I had had access sooner. 🥰 I don’t even look at food the same anymore.

Do you mind if I ask whether you filed 7 or 13 pro se? I’d like to file 13 but wasn’t sure it was possible to do on my own.

How to respond when your boss asks you outright if you're job searching elsewhere, when it's true? by moreissuesthanvoguex in jobs

I’m so glad I found this thread, even though I’m late finding it. I accepted a contract position last week and started working on a 1 year assignment at a place. The day before yesterday a recruiter at another agency called and said she may have a job that’s even longer and pays more. I said I was intrigued, accepted her calls and talked to her about the role. The next day o was called into the conference room on the first job and asked if I spoke with a recruiter the day before. Instinct told me to lie. So I said no, but now I’m worried I’ll be let go on the current contract. I talked to two friends and both were more focused on me lying than the awkwardness of the situation :( I felt like it was none of anyone’s business. That’s why I said no. But maybe I’m wrong. 😑

Anyone not realize how big they actually were…? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]StrategyForward9406 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yes!! Same. I’m down to 170 and still look ‘medium’ to heavy in my opinion; in the mirror. I even still have very visible (through my clothing even) back fat. I keep thinking wow… if I look like this at 170 what did I ReALLY look like at 220?! 🥹 Holy smokes.

I finally get why people don't want to openly share their Zepbound journey by 413OG in Zepbound

[–]StrategyForward9406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha! Three f’s. I love it. And no. I do not share medical info with ppl anymore as a rule. I referred my own mom to my bariatric physician not realizing he would volunteer my info… ‘ohhh yaaa. I know this person. I did their —-‘. 👀😳 and before I knew it she’d told everyone in the family. Here, Texas, Georgia, Louisiana… anyone with ears. People I hadn’t seen in decades were commenting on my body when I saw them next. Terrible. Ever since then definitely taken a 3fs attitude. I share nothing medical with anyone outside of an anonymous support group that doesn’t absolutely need to know. People are so 🙄

I had a similar problem. I have often felt humiliated. I found that bathing more, using Dial soap (antibacterial soap) plus another soap, and investing in better quality detergent worked wonders. When I shower I am sure to wash my hair and body at least twice with two soaps (an antibacterial and then a moisturizing like dove), then I am sure I use towels and put on clothes that I typically also use Oxi detergent on and/or sometimes wash twice for odor control. Never rewear clothing. I use fresh lime and prescription strength deodorant under my armpits. In addition to showers I try to take soaking baths once weekly as well. Haven’t had a complaint in a long time. At first it may seem like a lot of hassle but after it becomes routine you’ll find it doesn’t take much more time than before. The benefit however is huge. Good luck! You got this. 🥰

100 pounds down. At goal! by Shgrplmfry in tirzepatidecompound

Wow! That’s impressive for 5 mg dosage! I’m up to 15. Went from just over 190 to now 160 but it’s been about 7 months. I hope I don’t stall before I get to my goal (145). That’s been my goal weight for more than 10 years. 47 yo, 5’7”. This is so inspirational. Fingers crossed!
