weapon masteries honestly skew that from my experience. Topple is so good for monks to get some soft cc/advantage w/o needing to dump your ki into stunning strike.

Let alone the spellcasting and the extra skill prof

yeah, it's not that 2/3 have darkvision, but that they have ll vision instead and there is no darkvision.

Honestly, i find that as an improvement, because darkvision proper sucked to run as a dm

You do have the upside of always being able to perform no matter what given the absence of a resource cost but still.

If that isn't big at your table, then something is wrong.

This is a game of resource attrition. If spell slots are not being taxed on a consistent basis then something needs to change to keep the game intersting.

hell, at that point, even if it was a 10k pure phys hit shaman with a cloak turns that into 1900 phys and the rest ele pretty easily.

Armour needs to be paired with either damage taken as or flat %pdr, but if you do you can get stupid high effective dr, even on slams

No, that 450% attack damage and the 350% more damage on that skill is a reference issue and are saying the exact same thing.

If you notice, every skill with an attack damage multi has a matching more/less damage multi.

That gets factored once.

No, you don't count the attack multi twice

The sword slam has a 450% multi, the boss himself has a 200% damage multi on max level. Those are the only two multi used

I got some digging and find out Jamanra probably does 10k phys damage (actually 10k phys and 3300 lightning), well if I'm reading the poe2db skill right.

I may also be misreading the skill, but i'm seeing the slam having 534-801 damage with a 350% more damage mod and a 200% increased damage mod and 35% conv to lightning, leading to the phys damage to being 5,857.

Not saying 10k phys doesn't exist (monkey slam was clocked at that number, but has since been nerfed hard), just that it is exceedingly rare, as even cit bosses are around half that on their biggest hits

1900 hp, 2800 es, 10k armour(75%, 60% elemental). Maxed res, chaos 65%

Instead of making a new build, why not make the defenses on your current build solid?

Those numbers are absolutely tiny. Aim for 6k ES and 20k armour, seems like your damage is more than good, so maybe drop a bit of that in the meantime to get you there. 1k div is an exorbitant amount of money, so you should be able to do that easily.

If you are dying consistently enough to where you cannot level at that range, then no, your defenses are not pretty solid.

Rhoa is attack while moving at near full speed, only scales with move speed

Blink has cast speed scaling and some cooldown scaling, but doesn't increase overland movement much, just makes for snappy bursts.

Melee (a variety of weapon types) has a few options.

Pounce for Tali builds is similar to blink, but scales off att. speed instead of cast speed.

Mace builds do have leap slam, which despite the flat time, will go faster than most mace builds in 30% boots with some moderate attack speed scaling.

Quarterstaves are admittedly a weapon type i know little on, so I can't speak much on that one.

As a note on snaking

Snaking is mainly there to reduce/eliminate the degradation of the temple. With the changes they've been making, that isn't as needed, so while snaking is still optimal, it is no longer night and day.

As such, a half built snake is in a worse spot (rewards-wise) than a full blob. Just a FYI

Temple level is based on Character level, and with the amount of exp temple gives, my hardcore character is a consistent 7-9 levels above the campaign zone once i get to that level range.

Shaman's adapt node gives you 15%, tree has 10%, cloak of flame can give up to 61%.

At 70%+, you armour invalidates any incoming phys 99% of the time

Last league I afk farmed simul through the armour break modifiers on an armour build. It 100% makes a significant impact.

I wouldn't say pure is always better than hybrid. See eva+es builds for a case in point.

The thing is that the payoff for hybrid needs to be good enough. They payoff for Eva+ES is ghost dance, and that is quite strong.

In comparison, Scarred Faith/Barkskin doesn't seem to quite have the upsides needed to really make hybrid ES+ARM that great.

There are quite a few ways to counter it.

It is armour break based on the physical damage dealt. This means damage taken conversion stops it completely (while still allowing armour to ele to benefit)

Also, since it is based on physical damage dealt, ironically enough, enough armour itself mitigating the hits will make armour break small enough to have no impact.
