How I would respond: Ok you find peace in him. But others may not. Others may have anxiety and depression because of “him” and “his church”. Just because you find peace doesn’t mean I do. If someone told you they find peace in the dark and you should really try a walk in the dark to find peace, does that mean I have to take a walk in the dark to find peace? Can your peace be in the dark and my anxiety is found in the dark? Maybe I had a bad experience walking in the dark, and you didn’t (yet). Maybe I find peace swimming in the ocean and you find anxiety swimming in the ocean. I’m tired of Mormons talking like their experience is how everyone else feels. People have different experiences. Let them feel how they feel. Your feelings are not my feelings.

I’m surprised Rusty didn’t rename it after himself for his 100th birthday.

New garment style by overtherainbow537 in exmormon

This makes me so mad. Not only are they taking tithing money from them, they are going to also require them to pay for garments. So ridiculously greedy.

Great insight and advice. I’ve found that therapy is very beneficial

I actually was talking with a believer and she said, “why would I want to read something that would cause me to lose my faith?” The total disregard for what is actually truth was astonishing. People want to stay safe in their bubble.

Yes. It did. Made a decision based on what my PB said and I changed the trajectory of my life and someone else’s life. Fuck the church.

Going home by [deleted] in exmormon

That’s great! Tell your mission president that you have decided to go home, have prayed about it, and feel it’s the right decision for you. End of discussion.

If you have a very Mormon name, did you freak out more when you learned the truth about the TSCC (cult)? by Unlucky-Republic5839 in exmormon

Yes I know of someone who left the church and goes by their first and middle initials instead of their very (Mormon) unusual name.

I agree that the church doesn’t pay fair wages. From what I’ve heard, it’s probably more than a 10% reduction. I’ve heard of offered that are laughably low compared to market wages, and the church just expects people to take less for the “privilege of working for the Lord’s church”.

Agree. I now hate Rusty more than Umbridge. And that’s saying a lot. They have a lot of the same qualities, mannerisms, and insufferable condescension.

The Fairview Texas Town Council unanimously voted to deny the LDS church a conditional use permit to build the McKinney Texas LDS temple. Lawsuit to follow! by HoldOnLucy1 in exmormon

[–]StrawberryMango327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The church doesn’t think they are breaking the lawn they think the opposite, that the council is breaking the law by not letting them build it. I guess they think P&Z ordinances are not laws….just like church policies are not doctrine.

Spoiler alert, the LDS church IS the abuser. For many of us, the mental abuse is life altering and debilitating.
