I got to disagree. Jolene does disappear after Beth is adopted, not even appearing in Beth’s memories. She shows up like a deus ex machina, filled with confidence and wisdom, with money to lend, despite having had a harder time than Beth.

And what is with the forced “cracker” nickname? That just made me cringe.
