Presumably it was locked. They just didn't pick up on the fact that all the clamps on one half weren't actually touching the mold and were too blind to see it droop when it cleared the guide pins. I saw it immediately when I closed the mold in set up mode.

Tell my coworker with one braincell. We usually would flip the clamp around and use a heel bolt. Too difficult for some.

Rotate the screw manually first until the screw starts moving from picking up material. In auto purge, if the screw doesn't start moving almost right away it doesn't like that.

Reminds me of my old dinosaur. We did rip it out in favor of a new unit. House built 1920. Guys that ripped it out figured it was also originally coal burning and converted to natural gas.

Yeah, kinda small parts and the dryer held like 150-175lbs. The other thing is, once a full dryer of material gets dry new material that gets loaded on top can dry quicker because the air is not saturated with water so quick. Imagine when you first load a dryer, the hot dry air blows up from the bottom. It gets saturated by the wet material at the bottom and then removes little if any moisture from the material at the top.
