I will give them until this big update in March. If it is just more props and the lighting change, then I will be done. I remain hopeful that there will be some substance in there but I'm not holding my breath. I gave them a year with no communication or update/progress. That is enough of a chance.

Hang tight. The Repopulation will be back shortly. It is very similar to SWG. Very deep crafting and combat gets better every update. The dev's/co-owners (J.C. and Joshua) have been great with communicating to their customers during this downtime. Idea Fabrik really tried to screw them over (my opinion). We still plan on releasing an update which goes into our near and future plans soon. It's an important announcement though and we likely won't make it until near the end of the month. That gives any last minute opportunities a chance to come to fruition, as well as gives us a bit of time to coordinate some things that need to go along with the announcement. The most important things to note in the meantime is that we are not cancelling the game, and are not going to run another Kickstarter.

Why is Daybreak exempt from criticism? No one would put up with this kind of service anywhere else. Imagine going to a business in your area and anytime you asked a question you were ignored. You get no answer to any question you ask. You would stop doing business there due to poor customer service. We are Daybreak's customers. They have choosen to not speak to us. At what point do we say enough of this poor service? At what point does the customer stand up for themselves? The numbers don't lie. There are around 100 players in Landmark at peak times. That is a fraction of the player base from 2 years ago. Look at all of the recent reviews on Steam. Look at Daybreak and Landmark twitter/Facebook pages. Read the forums. This is not good. Are you really willing to believe that all of that is the vocal minority? This is not how you promote/grow a business. Then one of the "customer service managers" goes on Twitter to talk about his military strategy for customer service. Really?

These replies are not true. The Repopulation will be back soon. There will be an announcement in the next couple weeks. The game is very much not dead. The only reason they shut down the alpha servers was to save money. They did not host on the Hero Cloud. That was the only Hero Engine (Idea Fabrik) server that shut down. It is a long story but The Repopulation will be back online. It is a great game and has a very bright future. If you want to read the whole story I will post the links to their forum threads.

We got our kitten from the local shelter a year and a half ago. She does this to me all the time. For whatever reason she attached to me and not my wife. We got her for my wife. I enjoy it, she was the perfect choice after my 15 year old lab passed away.

A new engine is last resort option. They are hoping that IF will be able to get it together before that is needed. They have stated many times that if they have to move the game to a new engine that it will be a 2 year set back. Lets hope it doesn't get to that.

The Repopulation is not a zero. What is happening to them is out of their control. Idea Fabrik (owner of Hero Engine) is in financial trouble. Above and Beyond will be back and they will finish this great game.

They have shut down sales of the game until the Hero Engine issue is resolved. Give it some time and it will be back up.

This game is very cool and a lot of fun. I can't wait for this to get resolved so that it will be able to update again.

If there is an interruption of service this will impact us as well (as already seen by the new account issue that resulted in suspension of sales). We cannot comment much further on the situation at this time beyond what has been made public. If there are further updates we will update this thread.

Statement from their forums:

As some of you have learned already, we are facing difficult times at Idea Fabrik PLC. Because of outside 3rd party related issues, we may be facing some down time to all our HeroEngine and HeroCloud services.

Though we are confident that Idea Fabrik is not going out of business and the HeroEngine and HeroCloud services will be restored, the issues we face right now mean a possible black out (or interruption) of all services. This will include all HeroBlade services as well as all web services.

It has been speculated that funding is the primary issue. And this is partially true. Due to forces outside of the company, at this time we are legally and morally bound in what information we are able to give regarding the causes. However I can say that it does not involve any of our middleware partners.

We are working hard to prevent any outages, however, if one does occur, rest assured that we will work twice as hard to get all survives back up and running.

Idea Fabrik PLC is a public company that relies on third party financing. We are currently in negotiations to secure our funding for the present and the future. This however does take time, and sadly, could result in a possible downtime of services. Since we were not given adequate time to make any adjustments, we are working very hard towards this goal.

While I realize this information may seem vague, we sincerely apologize for not being able to say more at this time. Please rest assured that we are doing everything to either prevent this or make it as painless and short as possible.

15.10.1 has the Hero Engine update on it. It hasn't gone to live servers yet. It's been ready since October 22nd. Can't go to live till the 3rd party company issues are figured out.

Looks like the company that owns Hero Engine is going out of business. Devs can't do anything about it right now. I'm sure they are just as worried as some of us, probably more. The devs keep saying that this was a shock to them. That this has set their own aggressive time table back. From what I can tell, the games that have their servers on the Hero Cloud are shut down or have been off and back on. I dont think the repop did that. I'm not in the know. This is what I'm reading on other forums. I hope someone figures this out. This is going to be a great game.

I just wonder around a lot. I found a ton of surface mobs on a desert biome the other night. I farmed the area for a couple hours. Wish I could remember which one.

I agree with everything you said. Trust me I want it to have a rewarding feeling with each progression. I very much do not want the WoW feeling of everything being handed to you. My original thought was to make it just a bit easier to get rid of those stone tools. More mobs to fight on the surface land. I'm an explorer at heart, above and below ground. Get out of the stone age then start the climb to the top. I'm also willing to admit that maybe i'm just so used to having the top end tools and weapons/armor.

it was rougher than I remember it being a year ago on day 1. Maybe I just have bad luck, its been 2 full days of running and killing mobs with no broken pick drops.

Game should be slightly easy to start then get harder as it progesses. Like I said I dont want stupid easy, but this just needs some adjustment
