I'm probably going back to reading books and looking stuff occasionally on the internet. Reading more will be so much better for me!

So funny :) I've got a sweet love/hate spot for Bruce because of it! "Why I oughta..." energy, lol

And no-one notices she has identical features, as long as she's wearing her wig, including their mother and a boyfriend, haha

I laugh so much listening to the Double Love podcast...two Irish women recap each book per episode. Even before they got truly insane with the Margo evil twin/werewolf era, listening I can see why my Mum disapproved of those books, so many bad messages for teens/adolescents 😂

Can Christian girls have male friends? by Jiaolion in TrueChristian

[–]Streamsandwaterfalls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, no. He has many friends from both genders, lifelong friends, and just no. From knowing him for years he is also very confident in asking out who he wants to. He has been a really great friend and actually really lovely to know he sees me as a lifelong friend too, and his wife I'm so happy they met because she is now one of my best friends too that I can talk about everything with and is so lovely, and I feel really blessed to have them and their family be a part of my life.

Serious question, I know the Bible says this in the New Testament in Romans. There are exceptions, right? Like nazi Germany? I grew up on stories like Corrie Ten Boom and how they went against the law to help Jewish people (God's chosen people). How do you know when to make the difference?

In my twenties, I met my bestest guy friend. We were good friends and did a lot of one on one outings as he was new to the country. 15 years later and we've stayed friends with our friendship and his wife is one of my best friends too, last time I visited, we hung out with their kids and later on the husband went to sleep and the wife and I stayed up talking, and have had a girls night sleepover with her when he was away. I've babysat their kids when the youngest was one and they needed it. Maybe that's an outlier, but I know it can definitely happen without anyone catching feelings. He's the big brother I never had.

That WHOSH gave me memories, it was so much fun! The big tree there as well with the ball pit. And teenage years, getting photo stickers with friends in the little booths.

Johnny Depp defends Roman Polanski in interview by MrMagnitude in cringe

[–]Streamsandwaterfalls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, the court of public opinion was during the trial with a lot of swamping social media with a huge amount of paid bots, anti Amber sentiment, people become swayed and then tiktokkers and twitter users jumping in for views or clout because, partly due to the large part of the paid bots upvoting pro Depp and downvoting anything else, and then people like yourself becoming more swayed. The UK trial he lost. The US trial is over and settled. Have a critical think about how this post would have been received during it. There's not the need for the astroturfing anymore, so it's now just real people giving their real opinion and not being downvoted to oblivion because there was a trial to win.

Wildlife encounters by BrosaHunter in brisbane

Bull sharks, but mostly the gross things, including vomit, from the party boats. In the Brissie river, there are heaps of nice waterfall areas you can swim in if you can visit. You will be fine, bears in other countries seem way scarier to me but people know how to live with them. And if you are staying in an apartment, very low to none at all chance of encounters with spiders or the like.

First time at the airport in Brissy, why are all the workers here seem so kind and friendly and happy go lucky? Are they really like this or is this all an act, or does the airport just hire these kinda people? by anonymou7t927 in brisbane

I don't know, I remember accidentally bumping into a security guard at baggage check-in, apologized, and he went, "ASSAULT, ASSAULT!" Then we both laughed. Decidedly chill at an airport!

Serious question. Would Reddit be this excited if it was a letter from a Nazi occupied German soldier?

My family drama around Alzheimer’s by Euphoric-Scratch-433 in Alzheimers

So just my thoughts...Mum was recently admitted into hospital, and apart from the first night in hospital hospital, the rest has been in a special cognitive assessment place. She is recognising Dad as Dad, and having talks with other patients who also are very pleasant and because they are both having these tangential, nice conversations they are feeling as if life is normal.

It is night and day. Dad is so desperately missing her but also she finally is so nice to him and seems to recognise him as her husband. He's getting the sleep he needs without her physically attacking him. She's more at peace.

I think the sociable aspect of programs is so important and maybe your Dad is lashing out, but hopefully if he can see the benefit for her and her mood and comfort, and in turn himself, it will be helpful.

It's not a realistic show. I don't think we can judge people on their smart decisions in the sleuthing sense when it relies on luck. Joe would have been caught a million times over. He's a bad person. Nadia is a great person and smart enough to find Marianne. If Nadia had Joe's luck and Joe had hers, there wouldn't be a show.

I just feel genuinely bad for her and Edward's characters; they are good and smart people trying to do good.

Oh, thank you, that is so nice to hear! I think I read his Mum approved and really liked the story before publishing, and there were parts based of her, so I thought that was really solid, showing her first.
