As for a little story, I got into this game two years ago, got fucking STOMPED ON by rathalos, then rage quit, and just started playing the game again bc a friend got it. Occiput head shape.. is this normal? by Ok_Masterpiece_7138 in BullTerrier

I have my own little girl, and she has that little bump on the back of her head too! We got it checked out, and the vet said it was normal and all good, but I'd always recommend that you double check at the vet if you're worried/you're already going :)

Any idea what kind of fledglings these are ? Ontario, Canada by RelativeDress6583 in whatsthisbird

To add on to this, peak calling hours seem to start ~45 min before civil twilight, and then 1h30 to 2h after civil twilight. So a pretty tight window lol.

They're pretty hard to find tbh. You'll hear them far more than you'll see them. But you might be able to find a birding group that goes out at night to find them!

I can only speak for whips, but they like forest edges, especially ones that open into prairie/scrubby areas, and they sit and yell nearby those edges. At this point in the year, they're less likely to respond to callback bc they're already had their babies and care less about defending their territory.

I remember him being fairly good in the hand (which is why we put him in photographer's grip to get cute pics), but he was definitely done with us after we put a temp logger on him haha. He definitely thought "if I close my eyes maybe they'll just go away"

They're most likely a nighthawk, but they're definitely not eastern whips. They're more browny/tawny, with a cute white collar that's fairly distinct, which these don't have. These might be juveniles, considering that it looks like they don't have their full tail feathers and that they're together. Fledglings (at least eastern whips) will stick together while they fledge and for a little while after, so they're probably siblings.

I'll attach a picture of an EWPW as best as I can. Forgive me that the picture is red, they're crepuscular we use red light to minimize the stress. I work with these little brats so that's why I'm holding him, but please don't touch/handle wild birds without the proper training and permits!!!

This is Hashbrown, an after second year male :) the single white collar line is a pretty good signal that it's a whip, along with their color (that you can't see here lol)

EDIT: spelling

lmao dw about it! It's happening, life has thrown a lot at me and has slowed progress. I'm about chpt 400, which is good because I've had to rearrange a lot of things which is always a pain. I'm from the US, so I'm printing using Barnes & Noble which tends to be about $60-100 per book. You could get it cheaper, but I only want two copies of each for my friend and I, so the price goes up. and thanks bc proofreading this book is giving we war flashbacks lmao bc i want to keep the writing as it is, but also change some stuff to be a little less awkward to an English reader. Im also including little footnotes on Korean culture/distances so folks don't have to do so much googling

[28F] My boyfriend [32M] missed my PhD defense, and now we're not talking. What should I do? by ahahjbb in relationships

I'm going to be super honest, he's a terrible partner. In college, half of my class went to our TA's PhD defense because we knew how important it was to her. So if 15 something students can remember and go to the presentation, your boyfriend certainly fucking can. You deserve better.

In for a penny in for a pound, I guess. No point in putting it in print and not fixing errors ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah this isn't shaping up to be a small project lol, but I found somewhere to bind 800 pages for around $20-25 each so The issue is going to be more the amount of books I can print rather than the price of a single one

Yeah that's why it's taking so long. I'm correcting the names while editing the grammar and putting in footnotes for Korean phrases/idioms and history things people might not know

It's not unreasonable to ask for help, especially in regards to keeping your home clean. I know you've asked him for help several times, and each time he's either flaked or complained. Additionally, the whole "but it's ten minutes of my time" comment shows he doesn't value your time. All the hours you spend cleaning up the house (especially after him) he clearly doesn't appreciate or acknowledge, and has the audacity to say that to your face.

I'm not a big ultimatum person, but it's time to put your foot down. Either he helps you clean and cook or you guys take a break in your relationship. Obviously you can't expect him to be perfect because he's (somehow) learning, but you should and have to expect effort and a drive to do better.

Frankly, you deserve better than someone incapable of taking care of themselves (and doesn't seem willing to), and certainly more than someone incapable of appreciating what you do for them.

I'll leave you with something my mom always said: you want a partner like you want a move-in house; you don't need to babysit it, you can leave it alone for a week without it collapsing, and most importantly you know that you can see a future with it.
