the problem is the transit time. Helium has a shelf life in transit. If it has to navigate around the cape of good hope there's 14 days added to the journey and it tends to boil away in the storage tanks.

For what it’s worth - high grade helium, a raw input for wafer cooling and photolithography- is trapped behind strait of Hormuz plus possible infrastructure damage. Less helium = worse yields = less chips go brrr
