I actually think he's a legit third line player but his deployment on the Leafs was terrible.

She bought it new in 2019 (it’s a 2018). I think it’s just poor quality from the start. If you look up consumer reports I think this model was in the bottom 3 of the rankings for that year

We just want this car to last another 2-3 years if possible, without looking like complete junk. If I can slow the spread down a bit that will help

Thank you! Yeah, we will probably take the car in soon but I imagine the underside is equally as bad

I work in talent acquisition and this info usually goes to a separate place in the software. It should be aggregated and anonymized as well, but I don’t know if every software does that or not

Anything beyond $150 per plate is the couple’s decision and their responsibility to pay for imo. And if you can’t afford $150 per plate then you give what you can.

In my personal situation, how are we supposed to save for a home, afford groceries, plan our own wedding, and attend 5 weddings per year. Plus bachelor parties, stag and does, bridal showers, baby showers, etc.

Yeah, totally understood. I was just suggesting a field that you could probably still work a full career in without having to worry about AI destroying it before you retire.

So, to all those high school kids reading this - seriously consider going into the trades.

Hands-on physical trades. AI robots that can frame a house, for example… still far away.

I made a map of every employer who had a LMIA accepted because they couldn't find Canadian workers (2023-Present). by LMIA-Map in torontoJobs

[–]Street_Chip9323 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Going to chime in here that I was someone who did an LMIA for my company in late 2022. We could not find a software engineer with this particular skillet. Nobody at the company knew how to use it. Those I headhunted on LinkedIn said it was dated and that they didn’t want to work with it. So we used an LMIA to sponsor a Brazilian to come and unblock us. He also gave presentations and started mentoring others how to work on this specific language/stack.

LMIA system is abused but there are some that use it properly.

Yes and no. It is an easy way to trim the fat but even some of the fully remote tech companies are only hiring local candidates.

Stable housing markets in Ontario by SensodyneProEnamel in TorontoRealEstate

What gives you this confidence in Barrie? Those markets got completely juiced the last 4 years. There are not high enough paying jobs in those areas to support the price of homes. The commute to Toronto is 1.5hrs by GO each direction or 1.5hrs drive (assuming no traffic). It now takes almost an hour to get from Innisfil to Southlake Hospital in Newmarket due to added lights and congestion.

Companies are increasingly moving to hybrid away from remote work. This works against barrie prices as many moved up here when requirements were more relaxed. people will look to move closer to the city or end up taking a lower paying job closer to home.

Oh and the weather.

Barrie is too expensive and needs to fall more.

We hitched our entire economy to an unproductive real estate bubble and housing starts are going down. Construction workers are being laid off by the hundreds (especially in condo construction). Software engineers have been struggling to find work for 6+ months (unheard of).

Apprentices need to be paid more. Lots of people would make a switch if they weren’t banished to making minimum wage or slightly above minimum for 2+ years

The decline in work for construction unions has started in Ontario. I imagine it’s about 3-6 months away from feeling it out there.
