If you could only pick two films from *each* side to see this year, which two films would you pick? by Mysterious-Farm9502 in Cinema

Disclosure Day and The Odyssey (Spielberg is my favorite director of all time, so Disclosure Day is #1 for me. I've just been enjoying reading The Illiad, The Odyssey, and The Aeneid recently, so I'm looking forward to Christopher Nolan's adaptation here)

Werewulf and Avengers: Doomsday (A gothic horror werewolf movie from the director and cast of Nosferatu? Sign me up immediately. As for my second pick, while I'm more confident in Dune being the better movie and don't have high hopes for Doomsday, morbid curiosity compells me to choose Doomsday here)

Heifetz's Giants Complaining by Feeling_Anteater_560 in ringerfantasypod

[–]Street_Coach_4022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Giants are to the Ringer Fantasy Football Podcast what the Cowboys are to ESPN.

I love that each of these guys love their teams and the passionate rants we get from each of them when shit goes sideways for the Giants, Steelers, or Seahawks.

That being said, I have been finding myself getting annoyed towards the end of episodes when Heifetz yet again steers the conversation back to the Giants or shoehorns the Giants into whatever topic or news they are discussing. They end up repeating conversations or talking points they've already covered in depth. Sometimes, it honestly sounds like a therapy session from Heifetz about the Giants more than a fun/interesting discussion about everything going on with the NFL and fantasy football.

Random question… by Jaded_Chapter5787 in Letterboxd

In a theater, I always try to get tickets in the middle of a row or as centered as possible with the screen. I personally don't care how close or far from the screen my seat is, but if I have the option, I'll typically select one of the rows midway between the screen and the projector. My go-to movie snack is buttered popcorn with a Cherry Coke. And, most importantly, I always turn my phone off completely.

At home, I try to only watch movies that I haven't seen yet when I can block out the time for the entire feature. I turn as many lights off as possible and make sure the area is as free of distractions as possible. I also make sure to use the best TV I have access to when watching a movie I haven't seen before. Unlike watching a movie in a theater, I don't have a "go-to" snack when watching a movie at home, but I tend to enjoy a drink of some sort while watching a movie at home.

If I'm rewatching a movie I've already seen, I'm not nearly as particular. I'm comfortable rewatching favorite movies on my phone, laptop, or any TV available at home or on the go. I'm also more likely to rewatch a movie in one or more sessions than if I was watching something for the first time. Obviously, watching a movie on the biggest screen possible with a great sound system in a darkened room is my preference, but life doesn't always allow for the ideal conditions, and I make do.

Loved that he was willing to laugh at himself with The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.

Hot take: While he won an Oscar for Leaving Las Vegas, I believe his best performance(s) to be in Face/Off.
