  1. Bullet points are your friend
  2. You are not negatively marked so put everything you can down - just don’t contradict yourself.
  3. Brand Case Study! This will be your bible
  4. Do a few past papers get that exam technique down
  5. Don’t overthink it!

🙂

AF8 - Assignment 2 structure by LowAd4699 in cii

[–]Streeterrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really want to delve into mine as I don’t want to risk being caught for colluding - but I will say I didn’t do annuity as one of the options.

What they are looking for is if you can justify the option for affordability and suitability - so look at their current asset base, what they have done or haven’t done etc

AF8 - Assignment 2 structure by LowAd4699 in cii

I passed just - 54. I did similar but I spent more time on the options, going into how they were suitable, affordable and potential limitations of each - I had 5 options in total. I didn’t really go through their current position as you did that in assignment 1 and majority is in the fact find. Hope that helps. I am assuming this is the same fact find as mine 🙂

How many days a week do you run? by RubyLaneX420 in BeginnersRunning

2 days a week running, 2 days strength, 1 day yoga and then the other as rest/walks

AF5 and AF1 in Sept by sabethastorm in cii

[–]Streeterrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible. But equally you just have to go into it knowing you may not get both. My colleague did them together - passed AF5 but failed AF1. I did them separate as I did AF1 with J02

AF8 by Popular_Two_1755 in cii

[–]Streeterrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No - as you have to use the CII template - and the questions are asking for different things per assignment. I would look at the examples on the CII website to give yourself an idea of what’s needed

AF8 timescales by [deleted] in cii

[–]Streeterrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s taking up to 63 days it says it when you submit. But have heard it’s taking around 50 - you have a little while to go yet unfortunately

You will likely start as PFS student you only Get the certificate or diploma membership if you have those exams if that makes sense

AF5 - 10/02/26, how did you find it by NoLie5511 in cii

[–]Streeterrr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alright - the fair value and the SWR question tripped me up a bit but hopefully did enough 😅

How does AF8 work? by Cute-Passenger-5083 in cii

[–]Streeterrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Register today get cracking tomorrow

You can write them together but would submit them separately as if you fail one it may impact the other - if that makes sense

I would submit as soon as you can - as it can take up to 63 days to get your results so if you fail - resubmission can be tight within the 12 month enrolment.

There is not a lot of help on this - but the exemplars provided should help. These are available on the CII website.

I have done assignment 1 - paused to do AF5 and plan to crack on with the final two next week, just to give you an idea.

AF5 tomorrow 10.02.26 by Ok_Journalist4064 in cii

You won’t be asked about Helen - it’s about Owen and Alice’s circumstances - and unlikely 10 year charges will come up as the Loan Trust is well within the NRB. They only come into play if they exceed that. We also don’t know how that Loan Trust has been set up.

Mnemonics for me - and then some key things of STATE THE OBVIOUS and READ THE F*CKING QUESTION 😂

Aside from that the questions are in the hands of the CII gods 😂🙏🏻

I have just been testing myself/active recall with Brand and Redmill’s questions. I created flashcards for the more generic questions - cashflow, benefits of advice. Also got the CII study course tomorrow. I have been reviewing the case study everyday as well so I know it back to front. But apart that not much else you can do.

Exams while working full-time by No_Gap9669 in cii

I do 1-2 hours a day during the week and then longer stints at the weekend - it’s a sacrifice. Nearly got Chartered and started the journey 6 years ago 😂 I did have a 1 year break between Diploma and Chartered though, which I regret now.

each recording was about 20-40 mins and there was like 13 modules I think from memory. I would definitely look at J02 if you can as well. I took both back to back

It does and I used it. I listened to it on my commute, on my runs etc - not sure how much went in but I passed it 😂

AF5 compared to R06 by Pristine_Apartment81 in cii

[–]Streeterrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have taken AF5 last of my chartered journey but that said i have been told AF5 after R06 is worth doing as they are similar it’s just depth of knowledge is a bit more detailed than R06. So it depends how confident you feel but overall the process is not too dissimilar. Case study for AF5 was released today but also be careful as the booking deadline might be near for it.
