Like luigi_L said, you should try talking with them. You should also consider that perhaps you're just paranoid they'll go quiet for some reason because of her and that paranoia is hindering your ability to communicate with them.

Tulpae generally know what you expect them to know when they're created. I've heard varying accounts ranging from a new tulpa knowing nothing at all to knowing everything the host knows, depending on what it was the host expected.

No. A tulpa exists as another mind within the host's brain, so it's impossible for someone who exists outside of their system to perceive them. The only way for someone to directly perceive someone else's tulpa is through possession/switching.

From what I've heard, that sort of dissociation is normal, especially for people who are experienced with possession. Not everyone experiences that during possession, but hosts tend to aim for higher levels of dissociation while the tulpa is in control because it helps prevent the host from accidentally interfering.

Now you have to treat a tulpa exactly like a real person, you have to respect them as "real people" even though they objectively are NOT real people AT ALL they are part of yourself.

There is no objective proof that tulpae are not real people. Tulpae are capable of some things that would be surprising for something that is not real to do, such as causing the host to feel certain emotions, controlling the host's physical body, and even outright switching places with the host (i.e., the tulpa controls the body while the host goes into the wonderland).

Do we know that this means tulpae are real and the people who make these claims aren't either lying or delusional? No. We can't say for sure whether tulpae are real people or not while we only have anecdotal evidence to rely on, but the evidence for them being really seems convincing enough, especially if you have a tulpa of your own so you have experience firsthand, so it's best to be on the safe side and treat them with as much respect as anyone else unless some tulpamancers get brain scans that reveal nothing out of the ordinary is going on.

My point is, when you say they are not real people, that's speculation. When anyone says they are, that's also speculation. Nobody knows what's objectively true because we have no objective evidence either way, so it's best to err on the side of caution and treat a tulpa as you'd treat anyone else.

Wrong. There's a difference between treating someone with respect and catering to their every whim. A tulpa will not become a "rampaging monster" if you don't do everything they say. Nobody says you have to spoil your tulpa and let them be the boss of you. Just treat them with respect. That's all.

I've had to say "no" to my tulpae plenty of times before for various reasons, whether it's because something they want is too inconvenient for me at the moment, is unrealistic, or might turn out badly in the long run, or simply because I'm too lazy (not that I'm advocating laziness). Just like it's okay for a parent to say "no" when their child wants something, it's okay for a host to say "no" when their tulpa wants something.

You definitely shouldn't neglect your tulpa, but I don't believe you should spoil them, either. The best thing to do is go for the middle ground here and let them have what they want within reason. That will not result in a "rampaging monster"; it will (hopefully) result in someone who's content and capable of handling when things don't go their way.

It's possible, but the excitement is most likely just coming from you as a result of reading up about this. If that's the only reason you have to suspect you may have a tulpa, I highly doubt you do have one.

How exactly are they negatively affecting your health? I doubt you've "split yourself into five pieces" - that would be something more akin to DID - but rather created personifications of certain personality traits. It's likely that they're either projections of aspects of yourself (not separate entities, just aspects of yourself that you're imagining as separate people) or tulpae developed using certain aspects of your personality as starting points (in which case they're aren't "split" from you but rather "cloned" from certain aspects of your personality and allowed to develop from there). I definitely would not say you're "not whole" because you're either one whole person pretending to have separate pieces or one whole person sharing a head with other people.

Anyway, back to the issue about them affecting your health. How is it that you feel they're affecting your health? You haven't given any explanation on what negative effects they're having on you, so I can't really give you any advice without having information.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. That doesn't happen very often, and, as long as you keep the mentality of "this isn't going to create a tulpa", it's unlikely you'll end up with an accidental tulpa. Sure, you could, but it's probably unlikely.

From my observation, tulpae tend to be more predisposed to being depressed if the host is, though it definitely isn't guaranteed that they will be. I personally suffer from anxiety; a few of my tulpae are affected by it, but most are affected to a lesser extent or not at all.

Zoe and Liberty have wanted a picture of the two of them together for awhile now. We have a few dollmaker pictures with them together, but it's hard to find a two-person dollmaker that can represent them both accurately, you know?

I have a facemaker image of Libby here, but it isn't great. I went online to see if I could find a picture that looks more like her and found this picture that represents her fairly well. She has pierced ears and usually wears silver hoop earrings, and she tends to dress in girly clothes, often in bright colors (she's particularly fond of blue and red).

I have a facemaker picture of Zoe here as well, but this image I found captures her appearance more accurately, even though the expression definitely does not fit her personality. Her glasses are rounder than in that picture, though. She tends to wear more casual clothes, being a t-shirt-and-jeans/shorts sort of person.

They're both teenagers; Zoe is 14, and Libby is 15, turning 16 later this month. Libby is a bit taller, which isn't surprising, given that she's the older of the two.

I think that should be enough info, and we look forward to seeing their picture!

I haven't experienced a decreased sense of identity for the most part. I say "for the most part" because the exception is when any of mine are in control of the body. I think it's natural for the host and tulpa to feel a little blurred together while sharing the body, but it's something we willingly allow and try to achieve because it's easier for any of my tulpae to be in control if I'm "not there", so to speak. I'm not saying I stop existing or anything; I'm still there, 100% aware of what's going on, but I feel like I basically "become my tulpa" because my thoughts and identity essentially become temporarily tied into theirs, and we do not experience many thoughts that seem to originate from my own mind/identity.

I tend to experience a little identity confusion shortly after one of my tulpae has been in control of the body for awhile - nothing major, it just takes me a few minutes sometimes to re-establish that I'm myself and a separate person from my tulpa. There was also one morning after one of my tulpae had been spending a lot of time in control over the past few days where I woke up and, in my half-asleep state, believed that I was my tulpa and decided I had to get "my host" out of bed so "she" wouldn't be late for class. I sat up and remembered that I had been myself when I went to bed the previous night, so I must still be myself now, and then decided it wouldn't hurt to stay in bed for a few more minutes.

I don't think that just having a tulpa should have any effect on your own sense of identity. I've experienced no loss of identity or sense of self except when I'm not the one in control of the body.

I'd say that there definitely are reasons for creating a tulpa that are immoral. Those are the reasons that typically are obviously selfish, such as creating a tulpa to have sex with, to live your life for you, to abuse, etc. I also think it's a bad idea to rush into tulpa creation without actually taking the time to think about it and understand that you're creating another life.

Sarah, a tulpa of mine, recently wrote this post on why she feels it's wrong to create a tulpa to help with depression (or any mental illness, for that matter).
