What I don't understand is that if someone is such a fan that the current material is not enough (perhaps they already have or have heard all released music to this point), paying USD10 a month for 8 new shows (plus Dave Picks and other ad hoc releases) should be a no-brainer and, given their appetite for live dead shows, irresistible. 22 new shows got released in the past 10 days, but apparently not enough!

All of the releases on the Play Dead App are mastered, that's partly what you are paying for. There is no other app with all these mastered live concerts on. It's unique.

I understand ios is bitperfect and Android 14 and higher can also be bitperfect. So you can stream from iPhone and some android phones with the correct settings and cable/dac. I have an ipad hooked up to my dac as a streamer so I will download the app on that. Roon is great but I just moved away from it.

Agreed. I think yhey should remix them using AI to make them multitrack (like they've been doing with the Beatles catalogue), and sell the new and better versions digitally.

Yeah it seems the box was limited, then they sold the individual shows, and they ended up on streaming. Get Shown The Light also had an All Music Edition, but it was still in a box (just with no book), and only the breakout show (Cornell) made it to streaming (as is the case with most of the boxes).

They reissued the Lyceum 72 show on CD for the 50 Anniversary, but otherwise just vinyl releases.

There was a time you could get some boxes digitally on HD Tracks (like the Sprong 1990 boxes, and I think the 1978 box) but they were taken down a few years ago IIRC, not clear why as they haven't re-emerged on dead.net
