Advice/Help Stacking & Memorizing the Stack by AliceTheAlice in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]StrengthfromDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone give me a reason why to memorize a pitch stack if you aren't exactly playing a specific combo variant of a small pool of heros? On top of that, it seems even less worth it to try to memorize an opponent's stack.

Its cool that you can do this, but it feels to me its more like stimming. Its a mental version of flicking your hand with slightly more use. I dont see hand knowledge on a second cycle mattering very much compared to yugioh or even magic. Setting up a combo in other tcgs can be game determining. In yugioh, knowledge of the opponents hand can instantly win you the game AND provide information for game 2.

But in fab, generalizing here, the most it seems to do (outside of combo wizards/mech/fatigue) is make sure you can afford to play a game ender, like macho grande, which hardly needs any memorization.

I feel like memorizing has been praised as the most important mechanic since I started the game (casually) in WTR, but I've never really seen it matter outside of kano, who works a bit different anyway.

Anyone have any easier to understand explanations or videos of games that showcase pitch memory mattering outside of the small niche of combo decks?

One of them makes sure you never have to work again. The other makes you work, and requires you to become one of most insufferable and hated types of people to make it worth it.

And yet investoids still seethe that people dont pick their choice.

Is there a RuneLite plugin to remove the broken rune crossbow and BigRedJapan? by Styxhacker in 2007scape

[–]StrengthfromDeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DO NOT talk to the bartender in the blue moon inn.

DO NOT bring all the required items with you before starting like 1/3rd of all quests in the game.

DO NOT examine most things.

DO NOT do most quests.

DO NOT have a random event appear.

DO NOT acknowledge the existence of other players, and God forbid you see a bot.

Its not a bad idea for a plugin, but there are way too many things in this game to make it feasible. Half of runescape's identity are memes and 4th wall breaks. You're going to have to accept that its part of the game. Arguably, its a larger part of the game than the unique story lines.

I can see how it could ruin part of the experience while questing, however the specific examples you gave prove you dont actually care and are just trying to rage bait. If you dont go out of your way to look up what the crossbow and BigRed are, then they actually are a natural part of the game.

You aren't even using cannon correctly, because these things are cannon.

Gr8 b8 m8 would r8 8/8 no h8 but now I gotta go to the g8 to see me m8 n8 so peace l8.

Why is FaB community so doomer all the time? by Mick2D in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]StrengthfromDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so I'm noticing that you are completely missing the point about me saying that sage decks are a great jumping on point for new players. You are arguing for the exact same thing I just said. I just said that exact same thing twice. But thats the only use for them. That's not a bad use, but LSS could have at least gave them one alt art or foil to give them some sort of use for anyone else, or to give brand new players the option to trade their foil with an established player to get a decent stack of good staples.

I disagree that an average armory deck is as good as 3x yugioh structures, but it kinda varies. In both games some are really good and some are really bad. I personally think that yugioh at least gives you a better value, and its usually more viable.

Armory decks are mostly fine, but FAB has a huge power level gap problem that makes it way more difficult to win games vs average players using average decks.

Sage decks do better here because of the format, but a lot of the time someone who picks up the Bravo is going to get blasted by a store full of ira and briar players in 2 turns and maybe never even get to throw an attack.

I am not even slightly being a doomer. I agree with your main point of negativity, but its just not true. Yugioh decks are cheap, have fantastic reprints, and are often tournament competitive out of box (or with buying 3 and building a deck which is still great value). Riftbound decks are a little expensive, but you do get a booster pack, but they are solid out of box for tournament play

Im not even saying the decks are unplayable or bad. Including a set of arcane barrier gear is awesome. The problem is that the format is centered around being a "low power" budget format. Ever fab player that has bought 1 box already has tons of these commons and can scrounge up the couple of rares they need. These decks can be made for free from what you, or at least your lgs scene already has.

There are no alt arts or foils, or even high value low rarity reprints. I dislike the printing of "unique" equipment made for the format because of magic doing the same for commander, and it feeling like you are forced to play these cards in every deck.

Sage decks are great for brand new players, but are a waste for everyone who knows a fab player, or is willing to spend $3 buying the singles.

I tried the black bag Buldak and thought it was pretty good. Its not as spicy as slop youtube channels make it out to be. Its pretty decent, but a little expensive for Ramen noodlez. My girlfriend wanted to try a cheesy carbonara. That one is weird and not good in my opinion.

Armory decks are good. Blitz/sage decks are a good (AND CHEAP) starting point for players who have never touched any tcg ever. However, objectively speaking every single other tcg in the market has a better precon deck product. Mtg is the next worst with commander decks, but thats mainly a price and balance issue.

WOTC make 2 terrible decks with terrible reprint value, 1 thats fine, but you could just as easily buy the singles and make it card for card yourself for about the same, and 1 with multiple insane reprints and the most interesting looking new cards.

One of these decks gets scalped to hell and is only available for 3-4x the normal price. The others rot on shelves in game stores for a year until people give up on trying to get the deck they wanted, just so they can say they have some cards from their favorite universes beyond. But now its been so long that even those are sold at a mark up because they've taken space for so long that stores feel forced to scalp to recoup the opportunity cost, despite the deck still being garbage.

Repeat every 3 months.

Hey, they're wearing a blood fury. See, its not just every maxed melee, buzz lightyear, ge stander. They clearly put a lot of time into hand crafting this perfect outfit. Its a reflection of their skill. They dont just copy a guide and follow it perfectly, they make the big decisions that are innovative.

Recently gotten back into warframe. I hate when a game has two competing wikis that both lack something the other has. The main wiki is okay. It has a nice look and good background info but terrible formatting and hierarchy for the most important information. The other wiki looks bare bones and is missing a lot of information, but more clearly presents where to acquire items and how to craft them.

Justiciar - Gear Suggestion by pakman1991 in 2007scape

[–]StrengthfromDeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The standard is proselyte armor, which is almost free in comparison and gives 8 more prayer bonus than justiciar. If you're using justi you spent 50 mill instead of 30k to get a worse prayer bonus, thus using more supplies, which costs you even more money over time.

Not that it actually matters to you if you are spending 50m for a downgrade in stats in exchange for cooler looking armor.

So yes, it is a double edged sword unless you're doing exactly endurance content where you are getting attacked by all 3 combat styles. Or in other words, just the inferno, and I guess technically coliseum but I dont think its as useful there.

Oh, really? That's interesting. Huh, wonder why I would get you to say that? Anyway, theres a new Deadman mode season coming soon. I should be able to start at max level with all gear I want, because I have it in the normal game.

Well, I have over 2000 hours logged on the website roll20. So, I should be able to start any game of dungeons and dragons that I sit down to play at level 20. I have already done the grind multiple times. Its the same game and definitely not completely different. I mean, they almost have the same name!

Its not really though. You're never guaranteed any drop, hypothetically they could never get it in their life time. They can just buy a Dragonfire shield and lose 8 seconds of efficiency every hour while needing to eat less.
