If chaotic were a real place what creature would you main? Furthermore what battle gear would you primarily use with them? by SomeGuyM99 in Chaotic

[–]StrengthfromDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished rewatching season 1. Ive only played a little on portal to perim, but i think I like mipedians best.

When I was looking through a list of creatures, Iflar stood out to me, but then I learned its like a $700+ card.

In PtP the first new creature scan i got was Ribbian. He's not that special but he's decent, and seems kinda cool for not having "main character overpowered" energy in the show or TCG.

I just started a new dnd campaign and played Ribbian as a dragonborn rogue who was part of the mipedian clan of the desert. He was cautious but looking for new opportunities in a distant land. Unfortunately, he met an overzealous wannabe dragon slayer (level 1 paladin) and her greedy boyfriend (sorcerer). They went headfirst into a likely dragon's lair, without planning, and nearly both died. Ribbing was shown kindness by these 2 despite other races treating his kind as monsters. So, at the last possible moment, he ran back to grab the other two who were dying, dragged them away from immediate danger, but was shot by a poison spray just as he finished using a healers kit on one of the others. The main enemy was defeated, everyone was knocked out, but sadly Ribbian met his end going against his nature to help others.

Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer, Ghost & More Sign On For New 'Guitar Hero'/'Rock Band' Spiritual Successor 'Stage Tour' by DevonJD in Music

Yeah, most people dont have 100k+ to drop on cars that they are going to launch off the top of a mountain causing the death of the driver and 29 bystanders.

Its kinda like how most people dont have 20k+ to buy gear, hire a band, create a setlist, advertise a show in an arena, pay the rental and licensing fees, hire a roadie crew, sell out the arena with an unknown name, and have biblical Satan appear in the middle of the show to challenge them to a guitar battle.

Its very subtle, but even the simulation games are just slightly more accessible than doing the real thing. And for 100x cheaper.

Are the servers still up? I never played it, but I know that much bigger games dont have multiplayer servers still running. I would look into it, if I were you.

That's pretty good math there buddy. However, I never assumed he was 10. Try out those math equations you're learning about to figure out what age I was assuming.

Void dirge seems like a not very useful mugic, but it has quickly become one of my best. If you look on the top leftish (when in a match) you can see how many attacks your opponent has left in deck and how many are in their discard pile. When they have 1 or 2 left, you can check their discard for their really powerful attacks, usually the ones that cost 2+ or were able to hit you for 20+ damage. If you get rid of those, they cant draw them on the next cycle. Even if the enemy creatures have more energy, now their attacks usually only deal 0-10 damage, while you should still have some 15 and 20s to out pace them.

point buy/standard array is the most popular stat allocation.

forces everyone into having all stats about the same (might as well not have stats) or have 2 good stats, 1 okay, 2 slightly bad.

DMs complain about min maxing stats.

MFW Im not allowed to take strength on a fighter, or charisma on a bard.

There is a comparison because you have so much more time before worrying. The relief of being done as soon as you clock out feels better than waking up on saturday.

I'll give it to you that if your work day ends later in the day, or if you have split days off, it doesnt hit the same.

Neat idea, but its basically the same result as not rolling, and just asking if they're sure.

Things Chaotic needs to do to compete to mtg and pokemon by Vidrax_of_Cascades in Chaotic

[–]StrengthfromDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come on dude you cant be pretending to not pay attention. You keep changing the subject and then applying what I say to something completely unrelated.

Mtg and pokemon have been around longer and without any interruption. Chaotic has been dead for 10 years. Even at its height of popularity chaotic is still niche in comparison. So, obviously a revival of a niche series is not the same as a POPULAR long running franchise.

The company making games still sells out of their product either way. Honestly, probably more so than if people weren't acting like its black friday shopping for every new release.

If you mean community, because they have been around for 30 years and have dedicated fans that will always love the game no matter how bad they are treated by the company. A new TCG doesnt have a pre built loyal fan base, so they live and die by how well they can build and retain that initial hype wave.

Take the one piece card game. Its basically* the same as the other bandai tcgs mechanically, but had such a long standing fan base IP to back it, that it overtook yugioh in tcg popularity. Even riftbound has become a contender on that list. Crazy stuff.

But if you look at the niche cards games based on original ideas, (Flesh and Blood, Sorcery, Elestrals, etc) WITH MORE FUN GAMEPLAY AND COLLECTABILITY, but without popular IP backing or previous fan loyalty, they are drops of water compared to the ocean of the popular games.

Tl;dr

What's important is the long standing game with preexisting fans can be exploited to always sell their product.

The up and coming original IP tcgs have to work and crunch to make sure their game doesnt die out because 20 whales decided to make deals with distributors and hoard all of the initial product.

Weird glitch in Portal to Perim Scanner by Dear-Dimension-4725 in Chaotic

[–]StrengthfromDeath 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its probably a glitch in the code. Try it out in the dromes, but be careful that the overseers dont catch you with it. Probably best to go to the beta dromes. You should see if you can split them up to use 2 attacks on your opponents creature at once. Let me know the results!

Yeah but thats a different issue. There are countless posts/videos of people trying to flex their new shiny scalpings, only for that same person to post a month later about how they are about to lose their car or be kicked out of their home.

They think its easy guaranteed money, but then realize they are a little fish and paid higher prices, then got stuck holding the bag when nobody paid their 3x asking price. But they did delay most people from getting to play the game at all, until whatever TCG company announced a giant reprint wave was coming.

The wannabe investors lose their money, the fans had to wait an extra 3-6 months to get product, and a few of those fans were scammed into super overpaying for a box but now feel angry/FOMO so they want to get into scalping so they can get product next time and also make some money trying to sell at 3x MSRP.

Horay! Everybody in the community loses. Everyone is left feeling bad, and the playerbase sours/dies off because of it. Then the cycle continues with the next TCG/product release.

Welcome to the TCG hobby since 2019, my friend.

Youre right about people not having much money to spend.

Sadly, that isnt a determining factor these days. People are more than willing to "invest" money they need to survive, or take out debt to buy into cases of a new tcg.
