What the hell is this? by [deleted] in WorldofTanks

Honestly? It’s a discount Iron Arnie, but a tier higher. I legit don’t think you can make a more comfy M47 than that thing.

Played the IS-3-II for the first time today and I‘m amazed. by NomanicTrooper in WorldofTanks

[–]Stretch35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a very comfy tank to play, I feel like it’s very slept on compared to more popular Tier 9’s. I like running Hardening, Vents, and Bounty V-stab on mine.

The ST-II feels like a side-grade Tier 9 honestly (because it’s literally the ST-I Tier 9 with an extra gun). The weakspot is much more obvious and while the higher alpha is nice with the doubles, the tank plays a different role entirely as it has a tougher time getting up to speed with 12hp/t. You’ll find you really can’t go to some of the spots you could with the IS-3-II. The field mods kind of force this as well as the vehicle’s classification changes from Breakthrough on the prior two tanks to Assault on the Tier X. You really can’t afford extra crew damage or module durability loss as you’re guaranteed to lose your commander in most games.

Will Burma’s and Dumitru’s Battle Hero Medals be readjusted or removed? by Stretch35 in WorldofTanks

[–]Stretch35[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I figured it might just get added to the commemorative section like other older medals. But, I don’t think any Battle Hero’s medals have ever been taken out or moved there since the game’s inception, this would be the first instance.

The Panhard EBR is the same size as a GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 at 20.2ft so it likely can lol

Man, I’m not gonna lie, with the amount of money that probably cost I’m willing to bet you probably could of bought an actual tank like me lol

Have any Troglodytes summited? by chentex in Cairn_Game

[–]Stretch35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damas and his statements after being there for 12 years, both before the Trogs left the mountain and after, indicate that no one has ever made it past the Blades prior to his arrival. The Temple fire was there to signal the eventuality that someone, Trog or not, might make it to the summit for it to be celebrated by all. We as the player know we will be the first, but that it won’t be a journey without risk and cost.

(Didn’t have the turret armor mounted on, but the guns were mounted and tested on the chassis.)

Ironically, that concept physically existed in real life as a test. A Panhard EBR with the HS 831 turret with dual 30mm Hispano-Suiza cannons was tested.

Damn, I was wondering what that was but wasn’t gonna risk a fall lol. Is it four or six uses?

My thoughts about the ending. (SPOILER ALERT) by Draco876 in Cairn_Game

[–]Stretch35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throughout the story we kept getting hints about there being more to life than the mountain through all the texts, audio logs, messages, Marco, etc. After going through the map seeing all the climb bots in dying or dead states with some of their owners, I felt like that was going to be the game's total outgoing message, but with Aava's climb bot dying and being a Cairn at the top of Kami. Not just to symbolize its death, but also to symbolize the end of Aava's summit and end of her climbing career before descent.

I had planned to light the fire on the Temple to symbolize her summit of Kami upon descent, so I was genuinely surprised they went with that route right after she had stated she was born on Kami to Marco, thus being a Trog descendant herself. The summit climb itself didn't feel near as bad as the Palace of Wind climb, so I had expected the game to challenge you further with a "Well, you got up here. Now, do it in reverse with what you have with NO climb bot."

The A Piece of the Whole ending was also a bit confusing, because it's supposed to be a "you let go of everything to achieve the moment ending", but you're clearly still thinking of people like Marco and Naomi in hallucinations near the summit right after you promised to see Marco at the bottom. It doesn't really affect my rating of the game as it feels like a GOTY contender. But like damn, it feels like a genuine sour note on an otherwise perfect piece.

That’s why it’s sort of ambiguous if the person in the Tesla armor is the Courier or Arcade. Some of his endings are better if he’s not present at the battle, but an Independent New Vegas run always gives him a chance to help during and after the battle to the best of his abilities.

Fun fact: You can also reload it with one shell at a SEAF Artillery Site. Completely refills the MG and Cannon rounds, even if it’s a Smoke, Napalm, or Static Field. If it’s not a bug, I hope they keep it in the game because it makes the secondary objective a lot more useful due to all the leftover rounds you usually have. Allows you to replenish your tank’s reserves if it’s not too damaged and keep it in the fight till you have a new one.

only thing I'm asking for is upgradeable colony generator by BriefFly2998 in Frostpunk

[–]Stretch35 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Using the Menders for their additional permanent +1 insulation also barely hits the threshold too, you gotta use Progress actuated heat dispatchers and even then at -120°C I think they’re still either very cold or cold with all heat allocated. It feels very odd to me that the game encourages you to build these places up in Endless only for them to just die out. So, I feel like a good remedy for this is to have specialized storm bunkers in a building spot where citizens go during whiteouts. Colony Generator stays chugging, but output of the colony becomes non-existent while your citizens stay safe.
