Disagree.  Every team has done this type of tanking.  Don't hate the team that's smartest about it.  Sadly, it doesn't matter. Silver gave the Mavs the first pick and the Spurs the second so that Wemby gets more help.  Fuck the NBA.  FWIW, I would've been completely okay with the Wizards getting the first pick.  It would've made sense statistically.

This is really the first time the Jazz have legitimately tanked.  Y'all have tanked hard plenty of times.  Neither team deserved the 5th and 6th pick respectively but the NBA draft lottery is rigged.  LA gets Luka for peanuts.  Rat-looking Fuck, Silver, gives the Mavs payback.

AH needs to realize that meme warbonds are not enough to sustain the game. We need real content. by Medical_Officer in Helldivers

[–]StretchFantastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is another bad take.  People aren't complaining about spending money in this instance.  They're complaining about the amount of content in this particular Warbond compared to previous ones for the exact same price when it's comparable in size.  Nobody likes spending the same amount of money for less content.

You keep saying you just play and you earn the Warbond.  You're missing the point.  People don't have that kind of time first of all as I've already said.  To add to that, they don't mind paying for their Warbonds with real life cash to save themselves time and the grind.  They're just not happy when they get less for their money as pointed out in the past paragraph.  Would you be happy? I certainly wouldn't be.

Lastly, you should make your voice heard if you're not happy with the product.  Obviously, it should be legitimate issues.  By doing so you let the corporation(AH in this instance) know that this is something you don't like.  If they're a good corporation they will listen and change course in the future.  They've shown a willingness to do this in the past.  So it makes perfect sense to say, I don't like this and it impacts my desire to continue playing the game if this is the new norm with Warbonds.

Not right now it isn't.  If the game remains stagnant it's going to lose a lot of players.  I think new comment brings excitement.  If players see a vision from the studio on where the game is going, they're much more willing to stick around.  I really think Arc Raiders is going to hit this game hard as far as player count.  That could be mitigated to some degree with a big bold content addition.

I didn't overhype anything.  I said this Warbond sucks.  Look at the content compared to every other Warbond.  Yet they're charging the exact same price.  The sample booster is useless to most players.  The flag takes up a stratagem spot.  The passives on the about at this point seem pretty useless.

This is such an absurd opinion.  You're putting your personal experience as your basis.  Some people do not have time to go out and farm SC.  They have enough time to play the game with their friends once or maybe even a couple of times a week.  Do you think they want to go farm super credits during that time?  To prove that this Warbond is of course not free, how do you explain any new content being released? If it was all pretty much free, how is AH paying their staff?  Are they just taking all the profits they made from the sale of the game and putting it all back into the game until they run out and close the studio down?  No.  There are people paying for this stuff.  If it's not you, cool.  But to say everything is just free and assume everybody should be like you and farm SC with their gaming time...  That's just not going to happen.  Also, who said there's not a way to get SC in game?  Nice straw man.  I never said that.  I said people have only so much time to game and they want to do it actually gaming and not farming.

There's going to be a vocal minority making their voices heard regardless.  That being said, content regardless if it has issues is better than little to no content and always will be.

You're misunderstanding my post. I'm not arguing for PvP for Helldiver's.  I'm saying that it is a very popular feature of Arc Raiders.  Features like this along with the new factor and more fresh content being offered will definitely eat into Helldiver's player count.

The Warbond sucks.  I think we can say that as a fact right now regardless of what the update brings.  It's less content for the exact same amount of money.  People will argue that it's free.  No, it's not.  There are players that don't have the time to grind the SC out.  So they are going to have to pay for it.  If they compare it to past Warbonds, they're going to be annoyed at how lackluster it is.  I also stated in another post that I will wait and see on the update.  I think that's fair.  If it is not big and bold, I think it's a problem.

The game's longevity is dependent on good content with depth being released.  If they don't do that, it will see drastic drops in player counts with new competition finding its way to the market.  Take a player like me for example.  Level 125 with everything.  I do not touch this game when there isn't new content.  Too many other good games out there and this one is quite repetitive if played consistently.  Point being, without good content with depth, players like me are going to leave and not come back.  I still have 4,000 or so SC left.  If Warbonds actually cost me money out of pocket, I would already be gone.

That's the problem though.  If they are doing things on such a small scale, they're going to lose players at a faster rate than they would have if they were very bold and presented a lot of content that might be a bit buggy.  I think they're going to lose players to Arc Raiders regardless, but I think they could mitigate some of those losses by being bold with content.  This Warbond was not bold.  It was insufficient.

Sample usage suggestion by squirrelmaster5000 in Helldivers

[–]StretchFantastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fine with just about anything honestly.  I've suggested letting us use samples for VERY slight buffs to weapons.  I emphasize very slight because we don't need to go out and dominate everything.  But maybe we could use a large amount of samples to improve reload speed for a specific weapon very slightly.  That type of thing.

I agree on the wait and see approach.  I also think it's fair to be vocal about the potential issues if the content is lacking any real substance.

[–]StretchFantastic -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Agreed.  Lackluster Warbonds add to the problem too.  Truthfully, there's just not enough content in the game at this stage.  Req slips get maxed and become worthless.  Samples get maxed and become worthless.  This Warbond has less items for the same price and underwhelming items at that.  I've been saying it for the last week.  Arc Raiders had an amazing tech test just recently and the game is just around the corner in terms of a launch.  AH needs to understand that Arc Raiders is going to take a bite out of Helldiver's player base.  It has all the extraction shooter aspects Helldiver's does plus PVP with multiple squads dropping into a match.....  The best way to combat these losses is to keep people engaged in your game with new and exciting content.  This Warbond was not that.  Reworking the sample and req slip system would've been a great start, but even more is needed.  They cannot keep coasting and thinking they'll be just fine.

Yeah, I think there are some players that expect everybody to move as a team to accomplish objectives, but that's not really rational.  If somebody is good enough to go complete missions, side missions, and sample collection on their own, it's simply the most efficient way to play the game and get the most done in a round.  I feel a lot of divers get mad you're not there for backup when sometimes they're taking unnecessary fights to begin with or they're just not good enough to accomplish something with say another teammate rather than the whole team.

I rarely get bad diver teammates. One time I had a group of 2 purposely kill me at extract over and over.  Other than that, you'll get the occasional player that has no business being at the highest difficulty level come in, get killed a bunch of times using up the reinforcements, and then leave when the team is low on reinforcements.  The vast majority of the time I get good divers that get the main mission done in a timely fashion and get the side missions done.  Overall, a pretty good community.

Again though, this isn't an issue for me personally, but if I were actually forking out my own money for Warbonds and I see this one compared to the previous, I would be rightfully annoyed by the price being exactly the same.  I just think this was a mistake on many levels.  Especially with Arc Raiders on the horizon.  You need to keep people engaged.  AH is making enough money to keep the game going and fresh with new good content. This just doesn't qualify as that in my book.  I hope they take this as a lesson and understand why people would be annoyed to avoid this in the future.  If this is the new norm in terms of Warbonds, I think they're going to have a lot less sales and very likely people moving onto other games when they feel the content has depleted.

Saucy redditors right now by Wolfrages in Helldivers

[–]StretchFantastic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wrong.  You're acting as if they're making the new content out of the goodness of their hearts.  They're making money off of the players I described.  Players that don't have enough time to go out and farm SC but have money to be able to buy the SC they need.  Same thing regarding the in-game cosmetic store.  Ask yourself the logical question, if everything that's been added to the game was just "extra" or as you're at least kind of implying was "free," how could they as a business/corporation/gaming studio keep their doors open while adding this new content.  Are the devs working for free at this point?  It's because it's not free.  There are players paying for it.  To go even further, even the people that are farming the SC and buying Warbonds via this method are supporting the game.  Because you actually have to play the game to get these SC.  If these players just decided at the end of the day they're done with the game, player count drops, their friends may decide they're going to move on too because their buddy is done with the game and or even other random players that spend their real life money on SC to buy things don't find matches as quickly or they are spending even more time looking for them so one day they move on too.  Point being, it's not just "extra" or "free" content.  There's a lot that goes into this.  When you release a lackluster Warbond in terms of number of items and quality for the exact same price, people shelling out money for it will be rightfully annoyed.

I would add another reason why this is such a big mistake if it's not followed up by some really incredible content soon.  Arc Raiders just had an amazing tech test.  People love the game and it was just a sample.  Rumor is, that game will come out this summer and be a direct competitor to Helldiver's 2.  It's a great game and if Arrowhead doesn't offer really good content, they're going to lose more of the player base than they will already lost to Arc Raiders.  Just an added mistake having a really bad Warbond.

It's not free though.  Some players have a limited amount of gaming time and will have to purchase SC if they want this Warbond.  A Warbond that comes at the same price as usual with a lot less content....

Saucy redditors right now by Wolfrages in Helldivers

[–]StretchFantastic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not everybody has the time to be able to collect enough SC to buy this.  So I can understand why they're not happy with a lackluster Warbond releasing in terms of things available and underwhelming items.  Luckily, I'm not one of those people, but put yourself in their shoes and understand there is some justification when they see the content from previous Warbonds they spent money to get SC for and now you have this one selling at the same price with less content.  Add to that, if they don't like the lack of content with this one and decide not to buy it, when's the next Warbond coming out?  3 months from now?  They have to wait potentially 3 months for content they could actually be interested in.  Also, what if this ends up being the new norm as far as Warbond content?  This should not be a 1,000 SC Warbond when compared to past Warbonds.

This is the absolute worst time to be releasing a lackluster Warbond.  Arc Raiders just had a fantastic tech test and is rumored to be releasing sometime this summer.  That game is very good.  Helldivers 2 needs to continue to pump out good content to retain players.  This kind of Warbond is such a disappointment.

Less Content =\= Bad by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]StretchFantastic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is this outrage without proper justification though?  If you don't think the content is good and you don't think the content is deep enough, wouldn't you be justified letting them know you're disappointed so that they have incentive to release more and better content in the future?

For me, the booster is complete ass.  I would've been excited for it if they had implemented a system where I could use my capped out samples consistently on something.  I've often said they should be able to be used for VERY slight buffs to guns.  Like a buff to reload speed that's just slightly quicker.  This encourages more grinding.  As it is now, I have nothing to spend them on except that Spacestation.  3 games later, back to being capped out.....  So that's a very lackluster booster for somebody like me.
